Hi Cesar, IT is good to know you aren't crying because I havne't heard Simple Life.
Yes it is... but talking seriously try to hear it it´s a very nice tune, but not so easy to find bootlegs. Once I recorded it from a weekly beatle programm in a local radio station....every Ringo fan should have it cheers, cry
-
Cesar, I hate to say this but I wasn't really a Ringo fan. This means he wasn't my favorite beatle and I don't have any of his solo cds. I have mostly Paul's and John's solo stuff and one Goerge solo cd but none of Ringo. No disrespect to him though. I like his version of You're 16 and Back Off Bugaloo. Maybe I should try to find the botleg of Simple Life. I would love to hear it. I also like NEver Without You too. A lady who I talked to today told me she met Ringo because her ex husband was good friends with him. She said he was a very nice guy. I guess I should appreiciate Ringo while he is still here with us eh?

Hi Sam! Cesar criticize away -- you have the right to criticize I have the right to respond with a smile on my face...all I was saying that fluff isn't per se bad it's in the eye of the beholder and it's up to interpertation as to whether it is fluff -- Macca does all kind of music -- the songs you criticized were quite popular Say Say Say #1 for 6 weeks, Silly Loves # 1 for 5 weeks if I recall, Another Day was a top 5 hit -- so to each their own -- but many people like that stuff! To some those songs are fluffy to others not, such as Another Day can be seen as an off shoot of Eleanor Rigby -- talking about the loneliness of some ordinary women who inspire to dream, Silly love Songs -- a song saying that we shouldn't be embarrassed to be open about loving our significant other, Too Many People -- decrying people that are preaching and telling people how to live their lives...Ebony & Ivory -- racial harmony, etc. My point is that a lot of Macca songs that are deemed as fluff actually do have a message and at the time were very very popular. But, are people entitled to label them fluff, of course! That's the great thing about music you can read into it and like what you want. Paulfan You should listen to Harrison's solo it's really good -- I actually prefer it to Lennon's All Things Must Pass, 33 1/3, Somewhere in England, and cloud Line especially. Ringo's album which I belived is called Ringo -- that's the one with You're 16, Photography and It Don't Come Easy is quite good. Cheers! Mike

Hi Sam hope ya didnt get rained on in Milwaukee! Ringo was Fab on good morning amercia!
-
Mike maybe I will listen to the alubm Ringo. I like Harrison's solo stuff such as When We Was Fab,and All Those Years Ago which are hard to find in a store where I live. I know it is on The Best OF Dar Horse 1976-89 but it isn't int he stores I've been to nor are Cloud Nine and SOmewhere in England.I like Harrison's solos stuff myself. I think George was accused of being too preachy in his music if I'm correct and his toru bombed in the 70s. As for Too Many People did he think that John was trying to tell people how to live their lives?

Hi everyone- just popping in to say hello. I have been off-line all week because lightning struck my phone line and put out the modem on my new computer. I'm happy to be back - I was having withdrawal symptoms!

Hi Swaying Daisy it is good to see you back.
Welcome back, swaying daisy ... anyone could help me to find lyrics of " Number 9 " ? lol
-
Paulfan Macca was accused by some as doing Too Many People as a parody of Lennon's preachy political music. If so, I don't blame Macca because Lennon at the time slammed Macca for being non political -- so Macca possibly simply responded to say that he doesn't per se want to be political and to each their own as to what path to take, etc. Mike

Sam, you are the BEST!

-
oh so now i cant have the same friends as you? whatever.
-
Mike, I remember Paul saying he didn't want to be the one who did political songs because they would be boring and he would leave that up ot the politicians. Paul is an entertainer not a politician. Even if he is political people say he is self serving. Oh well Paul can't please everyone. I say Paul has lived out the peace and love life that was the ideal in the 60s by his actions not his words. He doesn't need to speak about it to me for he has demonstrated it by his lifestyle.
-
i guess not everyone is going to agree on what paul has done musically, but that is their opinion. No use arguing about who's right and who's wrong!
-
None of us is right but Paul is. HE still looks great for hsi age, continues to go strong, and had the top concert tour last year. Whoever doesn't like Paul can stuff it. HE still rules!
-
Sara if you were talking to me there is no arrguiin just stating opinions and having a discussion with Mike.
