Hi Sam, Personally, I think that if Glazer want to buy out Man Utd, ruin the team and leave the club with a mountain of debt, it can only be a good thing for English football. A life without Man Utd - sounds good to me!
I disagree with you. I do know that Old Trafford would be known by another name, and it is possible that might threaten to move the franchise somewhere else (something unheard of there perhaps) to acquire massive tax breaks to build a new stadium. Twas his MO here in Tampa. I would hate to see it happen there. Cheers! Samcat, a Red Devil supporter...
Hi Samcat, I was only joking - as much as I dislike Manchester United, I wouldn't like it to happen. Franchise football has happened in the UK to Wimbledon FC - a businessman called Pete Winkelman decided to move the team from London to Milton Keynes - they are now known as The MK Dons and, a once high-flying team, are now languishing in the third-string league. The English FA have said that it will never be allowed to happen again - that remains to be seen. Mind you, if I could get rid of just one team from English football it would be the glory hunters' team, Man Utd. Sorry.

Hi everyone. I survived the weekend (thank God for alcohol)!

Sam Leach:
Hi JeffLynnesBeard: Yes that was very sweet...especially with us having so many key players missing. Samcat: I don't know where you get your misinformation but English FA rules would prevent Glasier from doing that. It ISN'T going to happen !! Hi Maccascruff; Sorry about the snow. Hello Ellissay: Nice to hear rom you again. Back late tomorrow. Love and hugs Sam xxxx
Sam, I am happy to hear that. I wish that the FA rules would apply here in the USA where rich owners of sports clubs demand huge tax breaks and for the population to put the club on the dole to build new stadiums and charge everyone to use it. But you can be sure that Glazer has something up his sleeve. I can guarantee it won't be called Old Trafford should he take over... Cheers! Samcat Cheers!

Sam says it is against the rules or how is it for anyone to be forbidden to move a team by English FA rules? How would they stop it?

Hi Starr abd dB There's a new link on my links page to a new release by Genesis on George. It looks pretty good. Cheers Sam
Hi Sam Thanks! I went to: http://www.genesis-publications.com/books/concert/index.html Book: Celebration Of The Life Of George Harrison. I've been to your website quite a few times, I remember reading your tribute to George Harrison! I read it a few times!! Your tribute is excellent!! George Harrison sure did played a very important part of The Beatles success! I love his style of guitar playing, he definately is an outstanding singer, guitarist, writer. I read the (Lyrics) *Stuck Inside A Cloud* aww very sad, I had tears in my eyes. I think we may see another NEW album from George Harrison sometime in the future, he wrote songs while he was in hospital before he passed away, I think It was this day a few years ago! I get mixed up with time-zones, Australia is around 12 hour or more ahead in time. Sam it's good to hear your hip op' was 100% successful! you must feeling happy about that! All the VERY best!!

Hope you all have a GREAT week.

Sam, it is a fact of life that snows in Colorado! It's up to 10 inches now and still snowing, but, at this elevation, it will be gone by week's end. That is why I like living here rather than the Midwest. There this snow would still be on the ground in March and I couldn't stand that. I did find out I passed my class with a 97.7% overall. I got 94.8% on the final and you had to get 80% to get an interview. So, now I am waiting for the phone call for the interview.
-
Congrats Maccascruff Well done !! Hope you gewt the job offer you deserve. Love and hugs Sam xx

Sam: Sorry for the boring posts about Bush. This should be my last on the topic. Sorry Sam C -- but have to agree with Sam's comments about Bush's intelligence. Bush himself laughs and admits he was a C student Bush admits that he really doesn't read books -- only newspapers The best his Republican friends say about him is that he is not stupid. I've not heard one say he is brilliant. There are whole books dedicated to his misstatements What did he accomplish before he became President -- he was Governor for one term of Texas and owned a baseball team -- the rest essentially involved years of failing businesses. Tony Blair on the other hand can actually complete a sentence. He's educated, well read and no one ever accused him of being stupid. Can you imagine George Bush handiling Prime Ministers Questions every week? He might have to stay up past 9:30 to prepare (that's when Bush says he goes to bed every night) Again sorry Sam C -- this isn't a partisan swipe. I'd feel the same way if he were a Democrat. I keep my fingers crossed at big summits that he won't make misstatements and embarrass us. In my view and many others he is the first President who actually the world thinks (and many of us, too) has below average intelligence. Again, Bill Clinton, Geroge Bush (his father) Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter -- they were all accomplished, bright people. Heck its just an opinion so sorry if it offends anyone. Cheers! Mike
Mike, Bush's grades were comparable with Gore, who most people feel was brilliant. You can find misstakements with Gore that are equivalent with Quayle. Clinton too. Bush was elected Governor of Texas twice, and although I would not consider him brilliant, I would not place Carter (of the failed domestic policies of double digit inflation and interest rates, not to mention disastorous foreign policy where the USA was held hostage for 444 days) anywhere near brilliant. Reagan was never known as brilliant during his time in office and was ridiculed a great deal if I recall for his cowboy antics, much like Bush is now. And George H W Bush fell into the trap left for the Democrats when he went back on his promise not to raise taxes, and as for Clinton, he might have fared better if he had kept his you know what in his pants. That is what I call equal opportunity bashing on all these "accomplished" men. Best, Samcat

Hi Samuel! I cant either!

Sam C OK...about your political views..its all opinion no rights and wrongs. My only thing is how come you don't come out as a Republican -- its clear as day to me. You are about as non partisan as I am. I admit I am biased but you seem so as well. Cheers! Mike
-
From what I was told, I will get an interview and most likely a job. I have to agree with Mike here. I'm a biased Democrat, so Samcat, just admit you are a Republican. Personally, I don't think Bush has ever had an original thought. Everything comes from his advisors.

The English FA governs all football leagues and cup competitions in the country. They would simply expel the club from the Football Association which would mean that they would be ineligible to compete in the leagues or cups. Whether, in allowing Wimbledon FC to be moved & re-branded, they have set a dangerous precedent which has left them open to a strong legal challenge to any action to prevent other clubs following suit is unclear, that's why I'm not completely convinced that it could never happen again.

Mike, I grew up as a registered Democrat, and have become disillusioned with the two party system. I have pointed out in the past that both candidates are lacking, I just looked at the Democratic candidate as more lacking. Neither are doing anything for the offshoring of jobs from the USA, for one thing. We are all biased, but I do strive to be objective. Cheers! Samcat

I can pretty much assure you that Glazer would sue to get his way if he wanted to move the club. After suits are the USA way!
