Hi again Sarah, Clo & Giri. I agree with everything you say about Paul. He was, and still is, a real nice guy. And Clo I spoke with Gerry only a few weeks ago and gave him a copy of the book. He was made up !! I'm off to bed now so it's goodnight from me. Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Sam it is no wonder Paul gets picked on then. Rock N'Roll usually celebrates bad behavior as does Hollywood and they think nice guys finish last and like bad boys. It shows how twisted show business can be sometimes.

Sarah F:
Hi Sam, A question for you, Do you still hear anything of Gerry Marsden? I know a few years back he made a few appearances on the Sooty Show. I was just wondering what he is doing these days. I'm sure I can remember seeing a film on TV when I was very young called Ferry 'cross the Mersey', (one of my favourite songs). I know it was in Black and White...(well, everything was in those days wasn't it,LOL and we only had a black and white telly anyway until I was nearly 20!!) and I'm sure it had Cilla in it too. hugs Sarah
Hi Sarah and Clo and Giri and Sam, I think I've mentioned this to Sam before but when I met my husband, he had thought for years that the words were "very customary" rather than "ferry cross the mersey." And I married him anyway! I think he knows the correct lyric now... And is that Sooty as in Sooty and Sweep? I can't believe they would still be around! I adored S and S when I was little, in London, in the fifties. And I still have my Sooty and Sweep puppets to this day. First Aero bars and then Sooty---I'm feeling very nostalgic! Just came back from a picnic in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco with our 2 nephews and their wives and our 4 little great-nephews, 3 mos. to 10 years. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun and a listened to RingoRama and Brainwashed all the way home. hugs, Jennifer

I'm so happy to hear you say that about Paul I always believed that he was a just a nice guy ... I can't stand it when some people think he has ulterior motives for what he says : Goodnight Sam See you tomorrow. Everyone, don't forget to vote for Sam's website tomorrow (and everyday). Clo
-
Hi Jen,I'm glad you ahd fun at the picnic. Have you heard from Mike? IF os tell him to stop by here.
-
Clorinda what do you mean by Paul having ulterior motives for what he says?

Hi Jen, Yes the same Sooty Show It still is around I think today but nothing at all like it used to be when it used to be 'Mr Corbett' owning Sooty. (I used to like Sweep best ) Gerry used to appear in it at one time but it would have been in the late 70's I think. I'd have to try and find out for certain because I think my memory is off on holiday somewhere,LOL Sarah

I'm glad he's still fine and well. Does he still sing at all ? hugs Sarah

Hi Sarah Sporry I got mixed up there. I thought it was Clo who first mentioned Gerry. He still tours and I believe he does very well. Nice to see that. Chat with you later. Love and hugs. Sam.

Hi Jen `Very customary' now That is FUNNEE !! I'm going to tell Gerry that first chance I can get. Your hubby might hear from Gerry's lawyer, heh, heh. They did a full page write up on me and the upcoming `Operation Big Beat' today in the Liverpool Daily Post. If it's on www.icliverpool.com I'll let you know. And I'll give you the info and website addy later today for OBB. In fact it's on my website homepage...the large gray button. Love and hugs. Sam.

Hi Giri ... only that a lot of people seem to think that Paul says what he thinks people want to hear ... so that he will be on the "right side" : That annoys me .... why can't some people just take it at face value and realize that he just happens to be a nice guy, who happened to become famous. It's always been a bone of contention with me and I'm happy to hear Sam say that he is still a nice guy ... just confirms what I have always believed about our Paul
-
Clorinda thankf ro clearing that up for me. Paul is seen by alot of people to be a pr man. There are some who say he worries more what people think of him than John did and he is afraid to speak his mind. They see him as a wuss who can't stand up for himself and a rich snob who is a media mainpulator.I don't know why people don't see him as a nice guy other than that. They also think he broke up the beatles and cares only for money. I'm sure Sam could clear it up for all the people who don't see him as a nice guy.

Thanks Sarah! Yes, Sweep was my fave too---but I loved them both. I remember when we first moved to the states that they would sometimes have S & S on the Mickey Mouse Club Show here but I've never been able to find a rerun of it so maybe I just imagined it! (talking about memories off on holiday... ) Jennifer

Hello Sam, Please tell Gerry for me that I will join in on the lawsuit. tee hee. "Ferry cross the Mersey" is a fave of mine---I still have the original 45---and now, whenever I hear it, Charley's words pop into my head. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Great news about the write up! Wish I could go to OBB. But you'll be in Chicago then, right? I am looking forward to seeing you there----and in Cleveland. August is going to be an amazingly wonderful month! Hugs, Jennifer

Hi Giri (Paulfan). When you keep repeating what critics of Paul say then you're spreading their bile even further. Let's just forget those idiots and say positive things. You're already talking to the converted on here anyway. Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Jen. I'll tell Gerry soon and let you know what he says. it'll give him a good chuckle. See you in Chicago. Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Hi Clo I can't get on to samleach forum but thanks for the votes anyway. We're going to need even more this time. Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Sam, I wasn't trying to spread the critics bite just trying to answer Clo's question. She asked me why people couldn't see Paul as geniunely a nice guy and I told her what Mike told me. I wasn't worried at all about the critics just letting Clo know what I've been told. Sorry if I made it come out that way. I just gave Clo an answer that's all.
-
Hi Giri (Paulfan). You misunderstand ME...sorry for that. I know you weren't meaning to spread the bad remarks that are made about Macca. It's just that even me now is making it worse by mentioning them. Let's just totally ignore them from here on in...they don't matter !! Cheers buddy. You're a good Macca fan. Sam.
-
Sam I guess you are right. Clo said she hated when people said Paul uses ulteriro motives for what he says and I asked her what she meant by it and she told me and asked why they can't beleive he is a geniunely nice guy and I explaiend to her what Mike told me and what I've heard before. I would love to ignoie the critics except it seems hard sometmes and they push Macca around and us if we don't stand up to them just like a bully in school. I like to focus on the positive except sometimes the negative happens and I'm not prepared for it. I was afraid I was wrong for liking Paul at one time. That was what worried me what if the critics were right and I was wrong? What if they were warning me except I was too stubborn to listen? That was what I was afraid of being wrong for choosing Paul as my favorite beatle. Anyway I do hope to ignore the critics but how do we do it without getting pusehd around?
