Guitar Kat =^..^=:
My song "sucks" right now becuase I did a really crummy job with it, and it's not even with the lyrics I like or anything. I just had the tune and HAD to match some words with it....I didn't know what. Maybe I'm Paul!!!! Help!!! How did he get through this...hey, I know, I'll get my writing partner, Sharon (she's the John, I'm Paul, and she actually calls me Paul and I call her John. I'm the lefty player, and she's the righty. She's better with words, I'm better with notes and melody and all of that jazz....it fits!!! :lol and I'm sure she can help me out a bit.... Plus, I had a cold too, so my voice is really bad. LOL...Hey, I'm thinking if I just get the guitar chords together, Oliver, perhaps I can hum the melody or something with the chords and you can help me with some words...
Kat, first of all... Don't ever insult your songs! They're like your children. You must like even the bad ones. As for the lyrics... think what your songs makes you feel. Or what made you feel when you wrote it. You can send me the melody to my mail or so... and I could tell you about it. Also you know there's people in the board who writes poetry (Write poetry if you dare- thread). ...K... checked my lyrics to see if they were "correct English".
-
Hey Oliver If song writers used correct English we'd never have had.. "Awop bapa loomop...awop bam boom." They just don't write lyrics like that anymore, heh, heh. The `heh, heh' is just in case someone takes me seriously. Cheers. Sam.

Thanks Lisa I'd forgotten your name and was too busy (and lazy) to go searching back through all these threads (sorry). What am I like ?? Love and hugs. Sam.

LOL Sam.... Well you know what I mean... It was just to see if I what I write has really some sense in English. But you're right to say that not always a sense it's need it while there's music. BTW, I'm reading about the time when Brian Epstein take the Beatles away from you... Well, I don't think it was something "personal". I think he wanted to change their image (copying Brian's own image, like if they were their sons) and made them look not hard. So he tried to "delete their past", I think. And you were the symbol-link to that days ("The Sam Leach's era"). That's because he wanted to keep The Beatles away from you, I think. Pete Best maybe was removed for image questions too... or maybe... well, the drummer uses to be the one who set the softness or hardness of a song in a band. If Pete's drumming was "too hard-rocking", Brian would like to have another kind of drummer to make them sound not so heavy. We know that Ringo is not the hard-drummer kind... But well I said before in this thread that "the important thing for success is that your manager have faith in you". Brian had faith in The Beatles, as you say. So he bought those thousand of records of "Love Me Do". I think he turned into a father more than a friend. He gave them help to go ahead but in returned controlled them. At least he didn't controlled the music! The Beatles recorded Twist And Shout finally. Except changing Pete for Ringo. Or maybe Pete was out just for not "changing his image"... but if John accepted I can't imagine of some other Beatle refusing that.

I wished I could see it!

Oliver Eppy had other reasons for wanting Pete out which are covered in my book as you'll see. pete was unlucky but really Ringo was a better drummer and more suited to The Beatles. Although I've always maintained that the Beatles wouldn't have made it without Brian he didn't want anyone else to share in the glory of their `discovery'. Thousands of us in Liverpool knew how big The Beatles were long before Eppy came on the scene. He took over a `going concern'. Cheers. Sam.

I would have loved to witness them in their climb to musical success...

I would have loved to witness them in their climb to musical success... I can imagine the excitement they stirred up while playing. Nowadays, I'm not sure about other cities, but all I know is that here in Montreal, it's rare you'll hear a good band playing in a bar. They're all riff rockers with no musical versatility, no melodies, no harmonies... It's a tad depressing. The Beatles definitely must have turned heads everywhere they played.
-
Yes Lisa. (Magical Mystery Girl). They did !! And still do today...right !! I'll be off for awhile now as I'm doing my tea. Back later. Love and hugs Sam.
-
Indeed they do. Enjoy your tea. Today, bands try to turn heads by using the wrong means of attention-getting. They use what I call the "shock factor": wear less, be louder, be "badder", ..... when they should be turning heads with their talent.
-
Well, we know that soon's gonna be John's day. You know. I'll post here tomorrow my tribute to John. (If my LAN let me do it). Bye.

HEY! That's a compliment, isn't it? I'll take it with open arms. I just love learning about new stuff and such, and this is new to me, I suppose. Next thing, I'm probably going to get into another music group and fall in love with them. But will always love the Beatles...come on, you know they rule the world and influenced several millions (if not billions) of people. I wished I have seen the Beatles grow to the massive fan base as well. My dad says I belong in the 60's.....LOL He says it's my attitude, and the music, and about my whole attitude and the type of humor I like..and well, wrong time, wrong generation.

Hi Lisa (MMG). See I'm lazy, heh, heh. When we Brits say our Tea we mean our evening meal. Tonight it was Battered fish, Roast sage & onion Potatoes and peas. And for a cuppa tea I prefer Tetleys. Love and hugs Sam.
-
Hi Kathy (Guitar Kat). No you're not in the wrong generation. You're in toidays and you're all keeping Beatlemania alive. Good on you !! Love and hugs Sam.

I'm a huge Tetley fan myself. Hey Kat, everyone says the same thing about me. But you know what? If you were alive in the 60s, you'd be just like everyone else (well, mostly everyone else). But because you exist the way you are now, you're unique with exquisite taste in music. So, count yourself as special.
