I meant that I love the design of the website. My Mom works at one building firm, so their site is less inventive as yours: www.vladsfera.ru A friend of mine from Rusty's thread is on-line though she lives in Florida. It feels they are safe and sound.
Ah I see.. , well the hurricane didn't reach México but it will be in New Orleans, Luisiana, Alabama and Missouri, US, I have a brother living in Baton Rouge, Luisana, hope he will be fine after the hurricane.. : Next Thursday it will be the Mexican Independence Day (Sep 16), and I will rest 4 days....like a little vacation, I will be on line in the day...

Also we have women's day and men's day with days off. With upcoming holiday, Rocio!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah! I've forgotten, the picture is really great!

And there is also "Guadalupe Virgin's Day"! btw, we have "Child's Day" too. But it's on the June 1st. I thouth it is an international day.

Hola (((Diana))), the Three Magician's Day is about the Three kings to had visited Jesus when he was born and brought him presents, so at the south of México they celebrate it like Santa Claus presents to the children, it is more mexican than Santa Claus, but where I live, at the North of México we have more the US traditions like Halloween and Christmas, also the Guadalupe Virgin's Day it is because the Virgin appeared to an indian called Juan Diego and the mexican are dovoted to this Virgin because it was a miracle many years ago... The Child's Day it is celebrating always the same day...April 30....
-
What I post before were our holidays, but just the not working days! Of course we have a lot of special days like mother's day, father's day, friend's day, child's day, etc....

Thanks, Rocio! It seems very interesting. I love all these holidays that based on stories from Bible, it reminds me some kind of fairy-tales. We have only Christmas from this field. By the way, we celebrate it on the 7th of January, not like you on December. But the more American culture penetrates in our traditions, the more of new holidays we have, like Hallowen, St. Valentine's Day and the most part of Christmas sales starts on the 25th of December.

Thanks, Bet. I got that it was your holiday, but their names were unfamiliar to me. I have never heard about Friend's Day. What's that? We make presents for our friends on the St. Valentine's Day, for us it's not only lovers' holiday. On this day you can express your sympathy for all people whom you like.

(((Diana))), in México the traditions are very catholics, but the Death's Day it is like Halloween but with mexican indian's traditions, because they call the souls of the love ones to come that day and people goes to the cementery to visit them like a family reunion they bring food, drinks and clean the graves... We are invated for the US traditions, at easter, we celebrate the easter rabbit... but just Halloween, St Valentine's and Christmas are stronger than the other american traditions... I think because we are so close to this neighbour country...

Sorry, but that's an american celebration... Unfortunately, some years ago, it started to be another celebration here, but it's a comercial day. It's not our costumes, but the friend's day yes... I don't like that kind of days, like St Valentine or Halloween....

Because the most part of Russian people is Orthodox. You may know that it's one of the branches of Christianity. Our "church calendar" has small differences in dates in compare to Catholic. That's why we celebrate Christmas later than you, the same story with Easter. In the whole as far as I know we haven't much differences in Bible. Sorry, I'm very poor in these religious, as I not follow all the Churches' rules. ops: ops:

The same goes with me, Bet. : Not with me in particular... but some of the people here angry with all this stuff. Because the more we take of foreign culture the more we lose of ours. We have so many saints that are patron saints for lovers and so on... Why we should follow another's example? Just my opinion.
