Female musicians who have inspired McCartney?
-
Hi everyone, I'm trying to find information about which female musicians/bands who have inspired Paul McCartney in his songwriting, especially during the 60s. There must be some, even though men have traditionally dominated the music industry. Sue Raney and Ella Fitzgerald have been mentioned in articles. Do you know any others?

The Ronettes. There is a book called A Hard Day's Write which names a bunch of their influences in writing songs.

He wrote the title song for a Peggy Lee album, "Let's Love" in 1974. Apparently, he was a fan of hers prior to the fame he achieved in that band he played bass for prior to Wings...Beag, no, Beatles, I think was the name.
