Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Paul has changed a lot in the past few years. Sure, he's aged and his voice has weakened a bit; however, I'm referring to his personality and demeanor. He doesn't seem to have that special twinkle in his eye anymore or the happy-go-lucky attitude he is famous for. Recent interviews and televised appearances, of which there's been many, seem to lack the magic he once commanded. Also, he appears to be much more concerned with vanity than the all-natural, "hippie," Paul of the past. Perhaps, it's an escape from the organic lifestyle he shared with Linda. I've also wondered if his quitting smoking of marijuana has contributed to his change (or perceived change) in demeanor? Or, take it one step further, has it changed his voice, too? I realize these are all vague, open-ended observations, but, perhaps, some of you have felt or observed the same? DISCLAIMER: I know how easily one can be attacked on this forum, so let it be known that I'm not insulting Paul, his family, or lifestyle.

Actually I have not noticed that at all. I've been to all the tours and I only see him with more enthusiasim.

He does attend many more "functions" than he ever did with Linda. And I am not saying if that is good or bad.

It would be odd for him or us not to change. We all change, life experiences do that to all of us. I don't know if Paul and Linda didn't go to many functions. With the way the news is now, it's an instant photo. Times have changed.

Exactly. As the years go by you see more and more photos of Paul and Linda attending events I had no clue they went to. Photos didn't pop up seconds after they happened. It could have been weeks or months and then its old news. And of course Paul has changed, although in my opinion, and I've seen him in all American tours since the Beatles in 64, his enthusiasm for performing keeps growing. Especially the last few years. I only saw a dip once and that was around 2005. But who is the same as they were 40 years ago?

I agree with the other observations posted here. I personally haven't noticed any lack of enthusiasm for performing either; I actually think that Paul is one of the few artists who just seems to love what he does more and more as time goes on.

Opposite for me. Way more down to earth, humble, like-able and especially offbeat than earlier this century.

Many fans here say that his voice has changed and I noticed it too now that I've been picking up on his music more but his voice still sounds awesome. As for what he does when he's not in concert I don't know. But Paul's passion for music will still remain strong because he loves his fans and likes to keep them happy which is one of the main reasons why I like Paul so much.

If someone is the same at 72 as they were at 32, they're probably dead. But I'd certainly say from the gigs last fall promoting "New" -- iHeart Radio Festival, Jimmy Kimmel, that NYC high school, etc. -- he still seems to have a blast performing.

He's the same guy. He picks his moments moreso these days. That video/interview from last year of him discussing that reggae(African?)-riff he'd heard while recording the BOTR album was definitely the "Paul" I know: Great enthusiasm for music, relatable, charming.

I guess people do change depending on your life at that time. The people we are around influence us greatly. Paul seemed pretty much the same all the way through his marriage to Linda, the last few years and years following her death obviously being very tough for him. Then the unfortunate years with Heather Mills. I guess he has gone through a lot of change over the last 20 years. 'Celebrity' is also very different these days, it seems that 'nobody' can become famous, making the 'somebody's' larger than life, so maybe that makes Paul appear more untouchable? When Paul was with Linda there seemed to be more of a 'homely' quality about him. He was bringing the family with him everywhere and obviously Linda was involved with most things. These days the family stuff seems more private, apart from when the media intrude. Maybe he is also making a conscious effort to keep up with fashion and probably feels the need to be a bit over the top with the over the top gestures and "hey man's" etc? Just my little theories.
