@wandy I would tend to believe that Guitar World article since it was an actual interview of George Harrison where he specifically said that Eric did the solo. Now, I do have a book called “100 Best Beatles Songs” by Stephen J. Spigesi & Michael Lewis that says Eric played (uncredited) Lead guitar (using George’s Gibson Les Paul) and that George played Acoustic guitar, lead guitar (but that doesn’t necessarily mean he played any of the SOLO)
P.S. Clapton’s guitar solo was recorded Sept. 6, 1968. All kinds of details in this book! -
@wandy Well, it’s “keeps” a 10 bob note up his nose, but even in 1968 as an American, I knew what that was, being a huge Anglophile!

@njr Thanks but it looks like they got swallowed up by Nestle a long time ago -- probably lower quality chocolate by now...

I take exception to that - Nestle is a fine chocolate company. Why would the quality go down? It’s not like Mackintosh’s Good News was Godiva or Swiss chocolate.
I just Tweeted Nestle to see if they still make them. -

Don't get me wrong, I eat lots of Nestle's stuff, from M&Ms to chocolate chips, etc. But I find when I pay extra to buy their semi-sweet dark chocolate bar, it's significantly better tasting than the stuff they churn out by the billions in their global industry. They've gone all over the world and bought out companies. For example, a Mexican company that put out a candy bar called Carlos Quinto. I lived in Mexico as a boy from age 5 to 10 and I recall these bars vividly -- dark chocolate with a cinnamon center. I should order one now and try it to verify my suspicion, but I suspect the quality has gone down as the company has sold out to a foreign near monopoly. Anyway, I just like the idea of local, regional mom and pop type stores putting out quaint chocolates like Good News and not have to be absorbed into some global company.
