Pic Taken in New Orleans This week
-
This picture was posted on Facebook by a friend of mine. (I hope everyone can see it.) The caption said: Perhaps the best New Orleans Superbowl celebrity sighting. Robert Retz says, "This guy got on the streetcar and started singing Beatles songs to my friend Evelyn. Turns out he was Paul McCartney."

THAT'S AWESOME!!!! This is why we love Paul! He's more than a musician, he's a comfort to society! Thank You Paul! You are the best of them all! Now if only I could have an experience like that. Well maybe a bit differently, I don't need him to sing to me, I just want to shake his hand and say thanks, maybe we could strike an On The Run pose for a picture. Great story, thanks for sharing!

That is absolutly AWESOME

A very GROOVY happening for sure!

I'm sure the McCartney's went to New Orleans not just for the Super Bowl but also for the music N.O. is famous for. OK, I get it..that's why they didn't come to Indy last time. Indy is only famous for the 500 race.

and look at the people outside and have nooooooo idea that theres a rock legend icon right behind them stupid people that miss out : / gah awesome btw

I could die happy if I was Evelyn.

I was on one of the Canal Street streetcars Superbowl Saturday! Dang, why wasn't he in my car? Great pic, though. The location where the photo was taken is quite a distance from Downtown/French Quarter/Superdome area (I can tell by the Woodhouse Spa pictured in the background). So, it's nice to see that Paul and Nancy got to some other areas of the city. Hope they enjoyed the ride

It would be a sure way of getting Paul to give up his seat for you..I'm gonna faint!!!

Omg how lucky is she

If I were that woman, I'd asked him that he take away his hat for the pic, I don't like how he looks with that hat

He kinda has a Neil Young looking thing going on with that hat.

I'm glad everyone could see the picture. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to since it was from Facebook. I never have any luck like that, either. I could hang out at the Owasso, Oklahoma Walmart all day long and never see Garth Brooks!

How great would that be? I like that hat, party styles.
-
It's his alter ego Panama Paul

Aha! I thought there sounded something fishy about that story! Like Paul would board a trolley and burst into Beatles songs. : Turns out the guy on Facebook who said Paul started singing Beatles songs was just JOKING about that. And not a single reporter bothered to interview him until this story. If you read the link, it was the FAN who started singing I Want to Hold Your Hand and Paul only joined in for a bit and agreed to pose for a few pictures with her. He was just being a good sport. As usual, I've seen stories that paint Paul as some kind of attention hound trying to get press coverage while singing on a trolley. And it turns out he just wanted a darn trolley ride. There were some rather nasty comments about him on the NME story about this (as is always the case on NME. I swear NME goes out of its way to find the worst pictures of him and paint him in the worst light. I'm not on Facebook so I couldn't respond.) I don't know how Paul can take years of this kind of treatment and inaccuracy. It would drive me insane.
