Well Im sure Hearts will win the Scottish Cup this year atleast.....they did the last time we were relegated anyway!...Would definately need to emigrate if that happened.
who do you support?...and we are out the Scottish Cup anyway ops:
Im so used to Hearts doing well I forgot!...so thats a bonus! Support the cabbage & ribs who after last night look as if they are real contenders for the drop unless major changes are made on & off the park. I wouldn't mind if they split the old firm tbh.
oh dear, yeah they are not looking good at all at the moment, the new east stand will look good in the first devision though
New Stand, Debt Free, New Training Ground. Whats the point if we cant even field a decent team! Its not a good time ER way at the moment. It seems neither capital team does well at the same time. If we're doing well then you's struggle and vice versa.
the truth is that scottish football as well as being bad is totally over populated with journolists and media. no team outside the old firm is ever more than a few dodgy results away from being 'relegation threatend' or a few good results from being touted as the next 'big thing'. look at the way everyones been blowing smoke up 'kilmarnocks' arse lately.!!!! the product is boring and stale, the so called next 'answer' is to go back to a 10 team league?,,,yea right. its a real shame.i wouldnt mind but i cant help feeling that the scottish game is on the verge of oblivion. all that and i havent even mentioned the institutional descrimination and downright cheating that goes on in the 'S.F.A and pro referees against my club.. you see scotland can be a very bitter little country at times. i think the best thing that could happen is for a small team to win the s.p.l and perhaps scotland to fluke their way to a major championship. if these things happen in the next few years there may be hope.

Totally true...Its a sad state for football at the moment. Hibs were top of the league at xmas one year (media blows it out of proportion) we finish 5th. The only way to take the league forward is to have a 16 or 18 team league not to go back to the way it was 12 years ago. The national team have no chance with Craig "Harry Potter" Levien in charge. Has anybody every heard of a 4-6?!?! Those mugs were there for the taking. I think the sectarian divide is a big factor in the country and the media use every inch of it to pollute the game.

There are several issues in regards to the national team, firstly when it comes to manager it worries me to say that we havent had a decent one since Craig Brown, some of them who have come in have been great club managers but national management is a completly different thing, Levine was a great manager at Hearts however it doesnt seem to be working and it was the same for George Burley, he was a great manager for Ipswich Town and then later his whole 7 or 8 games at Hearts but just didnt cut it when brought in as Scotland manager. I thought Walter Smith with wee Ally McCoist was going to be great for us but then they chose to go back to Rangers which left me gutted as a Scotland supporter. But all these managers have the same or similar problems, the players themselves, some of these players have such horrendous attitudes off the park, they have no pride in their own game and their role model status to their younger fanbase, the amount of players that have been banned from night clubs says a lot and just shows that ned culture that we have is to much Also I feel like we are increasingly preventing ourselves from getting young people into the game, when I was at primary school, we all would play in the park and kick a ball about after school and at the weekends, I still stay in the same area and I have not once seen kids out playing football and that is a result of modern society today with a culmination of the fear of parents to let their children out and stuff like computer games becoming the replacement. The SPL seems to go through phases of bringing in a large number of international footballers in favour of local grown talent which of course is a hindrance to the national team, when Romanov came into Hearts he just brought eastern europeans with him and Rangers and Celtic have been offenders of that for a wee bit longer, we need to get our players from the youth teams if our national side want any form of chance in hell to get into an actual tournament, its been far to many close calls but missing out, I mean we beat France twice (that was one of my favourite days at Hampden) but still never got into the final tournament As for the SPL, what with fights with referees, public spats with clubs and not listening to what the fans want by going the opposit way, back to what they once had and didnt think was good enough, well they are making Scottish football a joke However the old firm really have a negative impact with their bullying tactics to get what they want In some respects I'd much rather go watch the rugby...even if Edinburgh arent doing great either right now But yeah Paul was good at Hampden

The problem with a 16-18 team league is it becomes boring (remember pre 1975 reconstruction?) the mid table teams tended to hold on to what they had and had nothing to play for because they were in a safe position and and crowds plummeted. Sky want the 4 old firm games, so any reconstruction would obviously have to be worked around that, i would have liked to have seen reconstruction of all the governing bodies running our game first by putting them under the one banner for the better of Scottish football and not there own self interests. some of the ideas which came out during all the reconstruction debate were laughable, i think the Dundee Utd chairman's idea took the biscuit tho, he said at the end of the season, the four teams at the top should play off for the league. lol The Scottish League maybe looked upon as a weak league now but you can imagine what other nations would have thought about our league, if the team who finished 3rd or 4th and 40+ points behind the team at the top were crowned champions, they would be queuing up to do the dyin fly lol like i said, lets get shot of the dinosaurs who are running Scottish football into the ground first, then maybe the clubs can hopefully find some common ground which will benefit our once beautiful game.

yeah the idea of playoffs to win the league was ridiculous...I'd be miffed if my team won every game of the season and then ended up losing at the final hurdle....that would not be good at all, the majority of the season would seem pointless, we have already got several cup competitions to keep it exciting, the spl doesnt need that too As for a 16-18 team league the main problem is, do we really have that many teams that are good enough for the spl...I mean it comes in round abouts, I never expected Aberdeen or Hibs to be towards the bottom of the league this season, on paper they should be better than that Did any of you hear Terry Butcher's rant on Tuesday night after Caley lost to Rangers? He actually made some interesting comments
-
The managers who have come into the Scotland job don't seem fully committed and continually restrict our players playing. Its like they are using it as a step up the ladder in their career. I mean Levein should walk if he cared about Scotland. We need to change the set-up of the league...everything is based around pussy footing around the old-firm so all their needs are met. We do probably need a drastic strip down of the whole thing and start something new. TBH I would be quite happy if the Old-firm went down south (which is highly unlikely) but atleast there would be more than 2 teams able to win the league.

I would agree that most who get the Scotland job are not fully committed, I would also say that most of them who get the job are yes men and get the job because they wont and don't rock the boat, only two spring to mind who were their own men, Tommy Docherty & Jock Stein. ohhhhhhhhh and Ally McLeod, forget Argentina, Ally done what no other manager has ever done, he united us and had us believing, albeit for a short time As for Roxy, Broon, Smith, McLeish etc it was all about personal stats and 10 men behind the ball which isnt my idea of football no-matter if it did get us the odd result.

Here you go, this is what Terry Butcher came out with on Tuesday night, it was nice to hear an English man so passionate about the SPL but a concern that those with power dont have that passion...he starts getting really interesting after 1 minute http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/9366087.stm

Yeah we used to play football the right way...albeit we did have world class players. But even the players we have at the moment are decent, they may not be your Law's, Baxter's, Dalglish, Souness, Jordan etc but we have good players and if they were just allowed to play then who know's. Atleast we could go down fighting. I mean 4-4-2 at home is a given, why bow down to any other team. I understand caution away from home but we could have beaten the Czech's. Now lets look forward to Brazil 2014 because we are not making Poland/Ukraine.

more teams might win the league but with every positive there's a negative, Scottish football would be finished as TV & sponsors would pull the plug, we could even get into a situation, where say Hearts & Aberdeen started winning the league all the time and they decided they wanted to move south to, no one would be able to stop them as the precedence would have already been started by allowing the old firm in, you can bet your bottom dollar that every time there is talk about the old firm leaving someone like Hearts owner Romanov will be watching with vested interest, its all about money & self preservation, not the working class sport it started out as. feck!! some players get £200,000 a week for kicking a baw, some can't even pass a baw and get mega wages down south, Kenny Miller at 31 has probably had his best half season ever and moves for £50,000 a week!! christ!! i would be able to retire after a few months on those wages

exactly, let the players play, i dont care if we get beat as long as the team goes down fighting and showing passion, playing with 10 behind the ball and hoping for a lucky break never won anything......unless your Italy

Thats a valid point actually, one which I often forget about. I have often preferred the old firm to be gone however that is a majpr problem if other clubs follow especially when they have those in charge only interested in the business aspect of it

it costs the punters up here more to watch a game than most countries in Europe, I was reading the German leagues put a cap on prices by charging 16 euros to see a game, every ground is now a sell out, that's something the SPL should be looking at, give us a price reduction and it would balance itself out as more fans would come back through the turnstiles, its something which should be addressed asap as more and more fans are being lost to the game every week, the clubs are taking the fans for granted, if the clubs dont do something fast, those fans will be lost forever.
-
Tickets for most things are expensive, for the football, rugby and concerts its bloody expensive regardless... a cap would be a nice idea thats for sure

Unfortunately too true...We live in the good old United 'In charging us rediculous prices for everything' Kingdom.

I agree tickets for most things are expensive but Scottish football fans are paying way over the odds for a substandard product, they say, you get what you pay for, thats certainly not the case here in Scotland.

What do you pay for a topgame (not able to read all previous posts, maybe it was posted there already)? Major league here cost you between 15-50 euro for a topmatch.

I just checked on the team I support prices (Hearts) For a normal game for an adult its between £17- £23, against the old Firm (Rangers and Celtic) between £26-£29 and against Hibs, our Edinburgh rivals its £27-£31 for a single game I dunno what the other teams are like and I presume Rangers and Celtic are even more expensive
