er yes... although my personal favourite was the Mark Devries home debut....5-1 hehe. I was at the newyears day derby as well. I try to forget the games I was at that we lost against you guys, but I think there has only been the 1 where Riorden scored at Tynie...hes such a good player, but an absolute tool
I don't recall the Mark Devries one tbh! Your right....fantastic player just hasn't grown up. I think I have seen Hibs beat Hearts twice in about 15 games. Once at Tynie & Once at ER. We don't have a good derby record at all.
I wa panicking on new years day because what normally happens is Hibs beat us when we are the ones in form, derby day isnt necessarily reflective of how the season is going and I was freaked they would end up beating us...I have to say the midweek game when we beat Celtic 2-0 at Tynie and Hibs beats Rangers 3-0 at Ibrox I was quite happy that night but finding it hilarious that the celtic fans were slagging the hearts fans off because Hibs won, I was much happier with that than the other way around and I wonder if Hearts and Hibs can get a result against the two Glasgow teams again on Wednesday for a victory for Edinburgh as a whole
-
dont worry normal sevice will be resumed in midweek. hibs have got no chance[ unfortunately ]againts the force of darkness whilst hearts little bubble will be well and truely burst at parkhead.! perhaps you should merge : didnt the late 'wallace mecer' or whatever hes called try that one??
-
it has been talked about in the past, the more recent just being about sharing a stadium but no thank you, there is to much history and its nice to have a bit of rivalry in Edinburgh I have to admit I think Celtic will end up winning the spl this season, Rangers are more beatable than them at the moment, we'll see though
-
as i said last week i actually think its there for the taking. celtic might have the better squad out the three but hearts appear to have the fighting spirit whilst rangers have always got the referee's! i would so not mind at all if hearts won the league this year although my heart will always want celtic deep down.
-
Withtout doubt there is far too much history between the two clubs to even think of merging. There's even a not so tasteful song at ER about Wallace Mercer. Yeah Derby's are pretty unpredicatable...in fact most of them over the last few years have been draws or a 1-0 win. Thankfully not many hammerings since Hampden Park! I think Hibs & Hearts have a good chance on Wed...The Old Firm are no where near as good as they have been and well Hibs need to win at sometime! I don't think Calderwood is that bad, We have too many players with alot of heart but not enough quality. The board needs to spend some money...The Stand looks very nice but the fans aren't turning up.

does anyone really think Paul will play Scotland again?

I don't see why not. He played Ireland twice in the space of 6 months. I've said this before but my ideal location for Paul to play would be Edinburgh Castle.

Being a Manchester Utd fan, I feel a bit left out here. What's all this talk about failure and underachieving? I'm sorry I can't relate to you folks. dont you remember the 1970s and 1980s..?????
I must admit, being born in 1975, I wasn't really aware of the drop in form, as we'd just won the FA Cup in 1983 when I started going to the games Sorry, this is completely off-topic I hope McCartney does decide to return to Scotland again, it was one of the highlights of 2010 for me.

oh yeah I had forgotten this thread was actually about Paul coming to Scotland I'm hoping cause he did Dublin twice in less than a year and also we are pretty close to home for him. He also got a mega response...he may do a smaller venue though Although whats the story with him playing the Barrowlands in 1990 and then a few months later the SECC. I never knew that he did the Barrowlands but according to his website he did. I agree the castle would be the pefect gig for him here

The Barrowlands is a new one for me to, I lived down that way in the early 90's and never heard anything, also had a mate who worked there who would have got me in, so its a blank for me unless i was in a coma at the time
-
was it not a proposed purpose built outdoor gig in preporation and quite similar to the huge one he did on the docks at liverpool in 1990. i remember the promotion at the time was 'get back to glasgow' and 'let it be liverpool'..[i was there] rumour has it that the glasgow tickets sales were so poor that pauls team switched it to the 5000 seater indoor arena[secc] at the last minute.?

I still have the ticket which was as you say was GET BACK TO GLASGOW, it was to be held at the Arena Queens Dock and also says on the ticket that it was an event for charity, for one reason or another it was cancelled and moved indoors at SECC where we were given another ticket stub to get in, It was moved to the biggest hall, which holds 10 or 20 thousand, cant be sure on that tho, the new ticket stub only mentions GET BACK TO GLASGOW, no mention of charity gig ??? even stranger, we got the freebie pollybag & prog, the bag said get back to liverpool on it and not Glasgow?

It must be a mistake, cant see Paul coming to Glasgow in Jan and coming back again in June, wasnt that around the time of the free open air concert at the Glasgow Green when Sheena Easton got booed and things chucked at her? even a 3yo should remember that
-
aye it does seem to close together, hmm although I remember when Hampden was announced that it was mentioned Paul had performed in the Barrowlands, but it still makes absolutely no sense
