National Express coaches - book on-line. www.nationalexpress.com They often offer "Fun" tickets - so long as you are certain of getting the actual coach listed at the time listed these can be well under £10.... Martin
Thanks Just checked though and it was £50. Y'ouch. This is going to be expensive.

Forgive me for asking the obvious, but things get mad around here... You do know Paul is also appearing at the Millenium Stadium Cardiff as well? Martin

Tucked away in the official announcement is this interesting factoid:
Next up Paul will head to Scotland for, amazingly, his first ever UK standalone stadium show on Sunday 20th June at Glasgow?s Hampden Park
So he's appeared in Stadia in the UK along with other artists, such as Live Aid and The Liverpool Sound Concert but never done a UK stadium as a solo artist..... I have to take his word for it, as I don't track evey single bit of minutia about Paul - but I'm sure someone here will correct him if his memory has slipped Obviously he's discounting the outdoor arena he created in the docks in Liverpool for his Homecoming concerts there.... Martin

The last Glasgow show 20 years ago was originally going to be an outdoor gig called 'Get Back To Glasgow' on the purpose built 'Queen's Dock'. (to mirror the 'Let It Be Liverpool' gig on similarly purpose built outdoor stage/seating at Kings Dock which was to happen 5 days later). Trouble was the Glasgow gig ended up being moved to the adjacent SECC amid reports of poor ticket sales. I was at the gig as a young 19 year old and remember passing the outdoor construction on the way into the decanted show. Paul even made (sarcastic) comment about it during the gig. Don't think he was best pleased TBH. When Glasgow was missed out on subsequent tours it looked like he was deliberately giving it a miss (esp after it being known as an essential gig stop for him in his Beatles/Wings days). I always though if he came back to Scotland, he'd play it safe and do something smaller and more intimate. So now he's trying a Scottish outdoor gig again, and even bigger than the one that ultimately failed last time. I'd love for Hampden to be a sell out but I can't help thinking he'll struggle big time to fill it. He just doesn't seem as appreciated in the UK these days as the rest of the world. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised... Chris

gibtti your are spot on with your observations.that is exactly what happened last time around in glasgow and if you add the 'cancelled' celtic park gig from the 2003 tour paul certainly has had a few problems in scotland in recent decades. a big gig at hampden with 40 thousand or so tickets is quite adventurous and i really hope the ticket sales are good. the welsh gig at the millenium staduim is also a big ask although the promoter must believe the time is right. paul would be better being much more 'realistic' with the ticket pricing for this tour.we will find out tommorow i guess

Tocket prices for Glasgow according to Ticketmaster £77.50 - £94.00 £77.50 (£70.00 Ticket + £7.50 Fees) £94.00 (£85.00 Ticket + £9.00 Fees) I'm thinking thats standing and seating, although watch out if you go for seating and end up on the upper tier section m, n etc then you are quite far from the stage so I'm surprised by the prices

£77 to £94 is a bit steep. Could effect sales?

aye thats what I was thinking. Those are def more expensive than gigs that have been at Hampden in recent times...I dont think even ACDC were as much as that, or Springsteen, but I cannae mind

Springsteen was £55 + booking so was U2 on the pitch anyway. My u2 croke park ticket for a seat was 120 euro
-
Too expensive. Big mistake. Will still go, but doubt it will be a sell out. Someone should have a word, this Glasgow not Monte Carlo.

yeah I didnt think they were much more than that, it is a bit of a rip, but it is also better than the prices for the states, however we are yet to see if there will be packages involved with these shows as well
-
£55 for standing would have been fair enough, he is going to get a lot of stick over this, and don't be surprised if the gig is cancelled yet again. People just don't have that kind of money.

The text of the original announcement has now changed it now simply reads:
TICKET INFO The fan club pre-sale for the concerts listed below will go on sale on Wednesday 3rd March 9am.
It no longer states further details will be published then. I suspect that this page below will be updated with links and pre-sale codes before 09.00 hrs: http://www.paulmccartney.com/concerts.php#/1867/all That is what happened today for the Miami pre-sale - there was no further announcement or e-mail, the links appeared some time before the pre-sales opened. So keep checking that tomorrow. Martin

No, I don`t remember Paul saying that either.Obviously he has regular health check-ups, and yes, he would need them for insurance. But if they allow Keith Richards on the road...

Prices on Ticketmaster have dropped from £77.50 to £60.75 again. That's a bit better!! Chris
