Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE

It always amazes me that people go to see Paul & want to sit all the time. I have been to some concerts & the people around me sit down & die. Arms folded all the rtime with a bored expression on their faces roll If you don't want to have a good time then don't come. If you do except that there will be fans who want to have a dance & a good time. Don't spoil other peoples fun

all of us on the forum should make a pact to only stand!! The others will have no choice but to stand too!! there must be hundreds of us there that don't want to sit, let's all do it. I really can't believe they have seats on the pitch, it's rubbish. Those who want to sit could have sat on the stands, and let us stand on the pitch!

Sounds good to me! lol

To christinemacca: I'd be up for that! I agree that standing on the picth would have been better as well, and then those who want to sit can sit in the stadium seats. But I suspected it would be seats on the pitch cos of Paul's age(not that that stops him from playing near 3 hour concerts, standing up the whole time), and the supposed age of his fans. I mean obviously there are going to be older fans, but there really are fans of all ages these days. Since it is a rock concert, I wish there was just general admission to the pitch. But I'll be standing anyway, and just hope no-one behind me shouts at me to sit down!

got my tickets for hampden
Hey you're pretty new to this forum thing like me. Well done getting tickets. I don't care whether I sit or stand. If the sound and the crowd are as good as Liverpool Sound it will be just great. I chose to go to the stand, it might rain. :

Hey since doors open at 16.30 who do you think will be supporting I hope it?s someone like paolo nutini

Ticket and Ryanair booked for Glasgow Tickets also booked for Cardiff and Hyde Park. The Anfield's choirs were wonderfull in 2008 and now, as I already wrote on Cardiff's thread, I wonder where is the best audience : in Hampden Park or in the Millenium ? The answer in 3 months 1/2.

Oh french Let it be....I'm enjoying the competition you are inspiring, who will be the loudest, well hopefully my fellow Scots wont disapoint especially as I have been going on (on this board) about how good the Scottish crowds are, although we'd be better if it was a bloody standing concert.Still gutted about that

First time poster I see someone's already touched on this, but I was just wondering who the support act was likely to be? I mean, what kinds of bands/artists have supported Paul in the past? I went to the Liverpool Sound concert a couple of years ago, but I guess that was a one-off in terms of support (I wouldn't mind some Paolo though!)

He was supported on several US stadium concerts by the Irish band The Script. Pleasant enough to watch and listen to - a major act in the making if they keep up the current standard. It'll be a up & coming band - is that why the tour is so named? There's little point in sharing the gate receipts with another major artist when the tickets are already sold without any named announcement of a support act. Martin

Oh God Paul don't you dare. Can't bear him. I'd hate to be seen listening to my Iphone at one of your shows. Mind you it would be you I was listening to

Yeah they supported him in Boston....I was gutted I couldnt go to that one because I was more eager to go for them than Paul, The Script were crap. If he is having support acts which I hope he is, I would prefer he had local talent, there are a few great Scottish bands out there

Yes, but only because they were originally a local Boston band. Besides The Script, Paul has used local talent at venues: Halifax, Washington and Boston.... I think. Halifax's artists went down well, as did mgmt in Boston - they only act that seemed to bomb were the artists chosen for Washington - a local DJ/group act. So you might see local bands given the stages in Cardiff, Hampden and Dublin.... Martin

Paul?s other performances in the Up And Coming tour include playing in Red Square, Russia and outside the Coliseum in Rome.
This jumped out at me in the article, but I'm thinking its misleading has he is played those venues before. Would he do them again?
-
Yes, sounds like the journalist has just scanned the press blurb and misread the "history" part which describes Paul's former triumphs. No more rumours please! It only takes a simple slip like that to send a mistruth circulating the fan-site and rumour sites. Martin

Since I'm going to Scotland all by myself, is there anyone up for meeting the night before and have a pint together? I'd love to meet Macca fans from all over the place (I'm from Holland myself).
