Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE

Paul's approach has always been to pursuade rather than deny. All the original Linda McCartney range of foods were "meat-like" designed to aid a switch to vegetarianism with matching flavours and textures. The range has expanded now beyond that but burger-like and sausage-like are still in the range. At the O2 arena in London last year the food concessions sold a "Guest" Linda McCartney burger meal, in addition to their usual vegetarian meals, alongside the usual meat and fish based fare. That meal also carried a donation to the Meat Free Mondays campaign. It is only back stage where his influence means his crew catering only offers vegetarian meals. Paul's current involvement with the Meat Free Mondays campaign suggests that the softly softly approach continues. Martin

::: slowly waking up ::: Thanks to all the people from the board who showed up at MM's last night! I had a blast! 11 people there in our group (there was another 'fan' group as well) with 7 different nationalities Drinks and dinner were great. Revolver was awesome, excellent cover band. Go see them if you can!!! Too bad the bass player wasn't a lefty Now I'm getting ready to grab some breakfast somewhere and slowly move my ass to Hampden. Have to be there at 2 so I want to be there at 1.30. Let's rock Hampden people! Roar, scream, shout, sing & dance!!!

Today's the day! sadly my youthfulness dictates that I have to finish a pile of homework before I can head off ...At least I can have Paul and The Beatles blasting in the background I feel revolver deserves another spin

He doesn`t have the power to close down all the restaurants and food stall on the site. I think that might have been wishful thinking from milcon!

How do you know? Not all veggies and vegans wear badges saying "I`m a veggie" you know! (And I look healthy!).

Hampden without meat.... ...now that would be something to see. There's more chance of me being considered funny than that happening..... You don't want to deny a Jock their gristle, there'd be ructions on. The much put abouts ma lives just south of Glasgae and the looks I get when I declare my alternative lifestyle choice,vegetarianism.... It's like I'm a nutter from Mars or something! There are few vegetarians in Scotland......I think around seven......and they all live together in a tiny croft on the Isle of Barra.....out of the way.

Actually, there are some excellent vegetarian restaurants in Glasgow. Saying all Scots eat junk is as much of a stereotype as all the bagpipes, tartan and shortbread stuff.

I did the Edinburgh Moonwalk last night - the full 26.2 miles and spent the first hour after it in the medical tent : Impossible to walk right now but I'll be there
