Our 7yr old just heard "Let'em In" yesterday and wants to know who Sister Suzie, Brother John, Uncle Ernie, and Auntie Gin are. Oh, and Phil and Don also.

Welcome to our forum FiveFoxxes! I hope you stay with us and have the time of your life. I always thought that Brother John was John Lennon since John was like a Brother to Paul. I have a tendency to think that Don and Phil were The Everly Brothers! I'll let our fellow Beatles fanatics answer your question, I know someone knows the answer.

Auntie Gin is one of McCartney's aunts and Sister Suzie is Linda McCartney who had recorded song with the name "Suzie". Not sure who Uncle Ernie refers to in the song.

          Maybe I'm amazed !!

That's quite possible but also, because Linda co-wrote the song with Paul, 'brother John' might be Linda's brother, John Eastman. I wouldn't agree or disagree with this but someone has claimed that 'Martin Luther' is the songs reference to John Lennon, as that was the nickname the three other Beatles use to use for John.

Thinking about it now, it is John Eastman!

Brother Michael is Paul's brother; Auntie Gin was his aunt (who used the term Let 'Em In during gatherings at Paul's house to invite friends in);Don and Phil were The Everly Brothers; Uncle Ernie is a character in the rock opera Tommy (Ringo played that part in London in the early 1970's).

In the full version there's also Uncle Iain. I presume Paul did have an Uncle Iain? I liked to think it was about me ( ) as I was in my mid teens but had become an uncle a couple of years earlier!

In Scotland, it is common to hear the phrase, "We're all Jock Tamson's Bairns", meaning "we're all the same under the skin" or "we are all God's children".

This is my favorite solo song of Paul's. I love when he says Sister Suzie,Brother John. I think martin Luteher is Martin Luther King. Phil and don are the Everly Brothers. The Background music is good too.

You're correct. I just read an article about the song that was posted on FB. It said that Martin Luther was not MLK, but was a nickname they gave John Lennon (John Martin Luther Lennon), so brother John was Linda's brother. http://beatleshistorian.com/?m=201512
