Paul played St. Petersberg, Florida? I'd have thought that too small a city for him to play. Why did he play there? Tampa is nearby, and Sarasota, but they're not large cities either...I know he's played Tampa once or twice. I think he has a soft spot for Florida
He played the Stadium in Tampa in 1990, which I saw, and the St Pete Times Forum in I think 2005, it is in Tampa, downtown, not in St Pete. The Forum is where he fell in hole where the piano was coming up.
He fell in 2002 in the show in Tampa which was next after Atlanta (where I saw him) didn't he?
'05. It's in The Space Within US DVD. Paul handled it like a guy a quarter his age.

Thanks, you're right Audi, I got confused! (doesn't take much these days!)

Penny Lane from the Space Within Us DVD
Around 1.30. Paul starts to sing "there beneath the blue suburban skies" but the band sing the proper line "four of fish and finger pies". It ends up with Paul singing "there beneath a fish and finger pies" -
i've always wondered how is he able to remember all these lyrics ,it's not easy people, for me it would be imposible!when i try to learn a song and record it in my home i'm always anxious cause i'm afraid i will forget the lyrics and i only have to record 1 song without the pressure of any public!

He uses a teleprompter. Well, a teleprompter is part of his set -- not sure how often he uses it. He definitely relied on it when "Nineteen Hundred And Eighty-Five" was added to the setlist last year.

....and he's been doing the same songs for 50 years so he should know them by now....he may have the odd moment where he forgets but by and large it's what he does for a living, like an actor so it's his job to know them. I knew actors who could quote and act every single word of Shakespeare and Dickens without even pausing to think or reaching for a script. It's the same thing. This is one of the reasons I think he shys away from doing a solo/Wings tour.....remembering all the new-ish lyrics after so long might be a nightmare for him.

I was just watching some DVDs with interviews from the Broadstreet era & he said there that it gets so boring (my word not his) that his mind starts to wander...wonder what we're having for dinner tonight...stuff like that. I sure would think so with some of these songs being sung over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over................

Until he starts playing concerts in arenas at half-capacity, this is the way it's gonna be.
-
without a doubt. he's the guy from RockBand.
-
So should he be allowed to use an autocue then, do you think? He hasn't a prayer of being able to perform something like Run Devil Run live otherwise, surely?

And he's dressing more like that guy, too.

I don't think he used a prompter when he performed RDR at the PeTA concert in 1999 -- and he kicked ass.
