WINGS FUN CLUB - recollections?
-
Me too. 25 years of fun club memorabilia. I wonder what its value could be?
-
I've seen some issues priced at $10 & others at $30
-
Yes, I think they are quite collectable, especially certain issues. I could never sell them though, they are far too precious
-
I think i'd need to be pretty destitute or on my last legs to part with my collection too.

I'd never part with any of my Beatles/Wings/Paul collecction ever! The postcards that sometimes came with the newsletters were great!
-
Oh yes, I've still got all the postcards, posters etc.
-
I not only kept allthe newsletters but all the merchandise order forms as well

-
I've also kept all of my membership cards & they're all in my Beatles scrapbooks.
-
I've put all my membership cards and newsletters, order forms etc into a folder too
-
All of my newsletters are in huge envelopes & stored in a trunk full of Beatles Memorabilia. Safe from dust, etc.

I joined in 1993, I thknk that the Off the Ground issue was the first one I got. I don't remember getting any badges or freebies though - I think they did less of that as the years went by. Someone mentioned getting a Flaming Pie badge though - I don't remember getting one I was talking to the guy at the Beatles Shop on Mathew Street and he told me that the earlier issues are very collectible, especially if they are still complete with a freebie gift. So many of you were so lucky to get albums and gig tickets - I'm very envious - I truly was born 20 years too late! Why wasn't I a 60s child? I swear it was wasted on my Mum!
-
I think we got maybe one or 2 albums. While it was really special being a member, the UK members got so much more than those of us here in the US. We were overlooked a bit - only got to go to one or 2 tapings....
-
My only regret is that I didn't join sooner than I had.
-
Me too but I only started being interested in Paul and the music in 1982 and joined not long after. I do wish though I had ordered back issues at an earlier stage as they are not easy to get hold of now.

Mine too! I joined after I'd seen him in Birmingham in 1990 if I remember rightly. I know for 1993 Earls court, I got my tickets through the Fun Club and great seats they were too! I bought my Flaming Pie badge and a few other bits and bobs through the fun club, and I remember getting free i.d.e.a badges sent to me that were metal that folded over to clip onto clothing. I'm pretty sure I still have one of them somewhere.

How did you all find out about the Fun Club/Club Sandwich? I first found out about the Beatles and Paul McCartney back in 1993, but I never even heard of the club until after it had gone defunct.
