Paul - GRAMMY 2013
-
Yes, but I thought it was on the jazz charts. BTW...here's Buble:
-
I hear what you're saying, but traditional pop and '50s-era vocal-jazz aren't that unrelated.

well, Christmas is a popular tradition... so... I guess
-
He has 3 nominations, but not sure if those categories will be shown on tv.
-
Ram deserved the 1971 Album of the Year Grammy, instead of Tapestry. Justice will be served Sunday night.
-
He did get a grammy for Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey. But you're right the entire album deserves to be recognized for what it is
-
I kind of hope The SMiLE Sessions wins best historical album, as much as I love RAM.

It will beat Ram, SMiLE is critically adored and acclaimed almost universally.
-
God I hope this is the last we hear of this album...thankfully he restored my faith in Paul's rock roots by collaborating with the surviving Nirvana members...

POP? I thought that album was in the jazz catagory. Everyone has been quoting it's standing on the jazz charts. How did it do on the pop charts?
The key word is "Traditional"

Nice way to conclude the project -- a Grammy win; however, it does seem like a teensy-weensy step back, following Paul's triumphant 12.12.12 set.
-
Damn. The Woody Guthrie set just beat Ram for Best Boxed Set. I bet Smile wins for Best Historical Album. Paul is a long shot given the long critical adoration of Brian Wilson's Smile album, while the love for Ram is recent.
-
Paul didn't win BEST BOXED OR SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION PACKAGE or BEST HISTORICAL ALBUM!!!!!!!!! OUTRAGEOUS!
-
And Brian Wilson's Smile just won the grammy for Best Historical Album. It's deserved but Ram deserved to win, too.
-
Well, Woody Guthrie and Brian Wilson's Smile were the conventional choices, and the Grammy's usually make the conventional choice. I'm still irritated. An extra bit of publicity for Ram would have been nice and well deserved.

Do the words "spoiler alert" mean ANYTHING to some of you guys??????

Sorry. But these early awards aren't on the telecast. They're just in the "pre-telecast." So I thought it was OK to post. ops:
