PIPES OF PEACE AND GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROAD STREET. Rotten, awful, garbage, rot, dross, muck, piffle... (a) proof that no matter how nice the cover artwork is - it doesn't necessarily a great album make. (b) The mid 1980's tested the patience of even long time Macca/Beatles fans (I was born in '62). We stayed with him , but by God, it was hard to do with the two albums released above back to back.
Yes, the 80's was a hard time for Beatles-fans. John Lennon shot dead, Paul McCartney working with an idiot like Wacko and losing the catalogue and George working with Madonna.
George worked with Madonna?

As a Mj fan i really enjoyed his working with michael,it seems that people here really need to learn to respect one of the biggest figures in music industry
From my point of view Paul working with MJ was a artistic mistake. MJ was more a performer than a great writer. I'd much rather he had worked with a songwriter on his level, but also someone to push him, which working with Elvis Costello did to a degree. I don't think the Stevie Wonder collaboration worked well either. I think working with Paul Simon or Bob Dylan might bring out the best in him today.
ofcourse he was a songwriter,he wrote his best songs. He was a singer, songwritter and dancer, like it or not.And i love the girl is mine

Can't beleive why so many people here hate MAF. I can understand people not enjoying the MASTERING of the album as it is rather loud and you notice that with headphones, but otherwise it's a fine album. Rather brilliant, in fact.

I said he wasn't a great writer, which he isn't. If you say who are the greatest songwriters of the 20th century MJ wouldn't be in there. It's obvious he's written some good songs, but he's not in Paul's league. The Girl Is Mine is embarrassingly bad, so corny. It might have been better if someone nearer MJ's age had sparred on it instead of Paul.

Understandable...somewhat.
-
Even this is sacreligious, because the remixes and outtakes are better mixed, but I'd have to say Press To Play...if the whole album was mixed more in the way he did the Pretty Little Head single mix, the album would have had less of an overproduced feel. Listent to the single version of Pretty Little Head and the album version (ouch)...there is no comparison clearly. Pretty Little Head single version is one song I will he would do live...

I really don`t like many songs from those. I can enjoy "Beware My Love " and "Silly Love Songs" ops: " from Speed of Sound. I don`t like anything from broad Street (I like the original versions of the beatle-songs, though)... and i do like "Good Times Coming/Feel the Sun" from press to play to a certain extent. Ahhh, and I really love "Say Say Say" from Pipes; perfect pop-song. The title track is okay-ish.

I used to say Pipes of Peace. But because I absolutely LOVE So Bad, Through Our Love, Say Say Say, and the title track, I've changed my mind. MAF now get's the honor. It's the low point for me.
Pipes Of Peace and Off The Ground are far weaker than MAF, i don't listen to either. POP and OTG are two of Paul's laziest albums
I have my problems with OTG -but lazy? If anything, he tried to hard with that one. He even got his friend, the poet Adrian Mitchell, to look at the lyrics! There was no need for that.

But now tell me what are his worst albums in your opinion (sorry if you already posted them on this thread; I`m too lazy to read through the whole thread)...

I'm actually not fond of McCartney II except for Coming Up and Waterfalls, but I bought the deluxe remaster! Also, Memory Almost Full--but I like Only Mama Knows. Some of the others, like Press to Play, I haven't listened to since they came out (as I only have them in vinyl) I like the song Press, though. I'm just recently rediscovering my early to 1986 McCartney LPs as I hauled out my old turntable. You younger people know much more about specific songs on his post-1977/pre-1987 stuff.

McCartney II is one of my very favourite Paul albums I agree about Memory almost full... I`m not a big fan of it; The reason it`s not in my "worst albums"-list is "mr bellamy"... probably my favourite post-1980 macca song!

Ah, well, we agree to disagree! And Band On the Run is probably my favorite, but you say it's overrated!
