Paul Collaborates On World Premiere NYC Ballet
-
Can't wait to finally hear this, particulary as a diver for a living. Hope to one day take my girls to the ballet as well, with a little luck.

I like ocean's kingdom, but I prefer Standing Stone, is more vibrant, more passionate, perhaps because the topic. Instead ocean's kingdom is more quiet, maybe because it is on the sea, or because it is a ballet, but ballet is music that is quite strong. Either way I'm still getting used to my ear, I might fall in love with this album too

I just got my CD from Amazon today, which did have that lovely download card, which allayed my fears of not getting the live version if I didn't buy from Paul's site.
Jen, where in the CD packaging did you find the download card? The label that appears on the front of the CD reads "Plus digital download including a bonus live recording of the New York Gala Premiere," but we did not find a download card inside.
-
I bought my copy from Amazon. The download card was tucked into the booklet on the left side. It is the size of a business card with Ocean's Kingdom art on one side and download info on the back.
-
Triplets, As gnome posted, the card was a business card, and was tucked into the packaging. It led me to a website that is hosting the downloads. If you don't find the card, I'd definitely send Amazon an e-mail. If you ordered the CD through Paul's site, apparently an e-mail was sent to those who ordered the CD. Good luck!

If you ordered the CD from Paul's site, as my best friend did, you got the same download card in the packaging. The info sends you to the same redemption site as the card I got in the CD I ordered from Amazon. The email was sent because the download on the host site was mastered at the incorrect speed, as reported on Steve Marinucci's Paul McCartney page (ificandream on the board). The email was sent to people after the file with the correct speed was available in case anyone had downloaded the one with the incorrect speed. This explains it in detail (Steve also posted this several pages back). http://www.examiner.com/paul-mccartney-in-national/consumer-alert-flaws-paul-mccartney-ocean-s-kingdom-download-revealed

Jen and gnome, thanks so much for the replies! I'm sorry, I should have written that I purchased through Amazon. After reading your replies I checked the booklet again and the floor of the room in which I opened the CD...nothing! I will e-mail Amazon, hopefully they will be able to help. Thanks again for the replies, very much appreciated!

Anita, I just got mine from Amazon too. (Mod Edit: well intentioned but naughty, sorry we can't permit sharing of download info here) I got an error message saying Adobe Reader could not open it, blah blah blah. Then I just located the download on my "recent places" (downloads) and opened it up completely so it shows all of the movements etc. Then I opened the first movement and it is playing now.

(((((Martin)))))............ You are more than I can handle!!! (((Nancy))), very sweet gesture! Thank you so much for the thought - very much appreciated!!! I have not written to Amazon yet, but hope that they will help. If not, I will simply purchase another copy. Again, I appreciate the gesture more than you know - thank you!!!

Anita, Sorry about that. I can't keep up with all the rules here. Amazon should be able to help you.

Paul got a nice little wedding present today. His Ocean's Kingdom CD is No. 4 on the British Official Charts Classical Artist Albums Chart. Good for him.

so triplets, what happened with your missing download card?
-
Ocean's Kingdom is No. 3 today on the Billboard Classical Charts, and no. 143 on the Billboard 200 (the top 200 selling records of all types). Darn good, especially given all the bad publicity.

Hi gnome, very nice of you to ask! I made contact with Amazon Customer Service via telephone. They sent out another CD which was scheduled to arrive on the 12th, but surprisingly arrived on the 11th. Thankfully the download card was included this time! The live recording of the World Premiere is absolutely beautiful - LOVE it!!! We feel very privileged to have been there and to have this live recording as a souvenir. Hope you are enjoying this as much as we are. Thanks again to you and Jen for the helpful information, very much appreciated! A big thank you to Nancy as it is the thought that counts!

Glad you got it all straightened out Anita!

Had to give this thread a bump... Experienced a nice surprise today, turned on the car radio, tuned to Sirius XM channel 76, Symphony Hall. When tuned to this channel, we see the names and hear the music of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart, but not this afternoon. To our absolute shock, today we tuned in to see the name of McCartney, hearing his beautiful Ocean's Kingdom. Sooooo cool...Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and McCartney - LOVE it!!! Hearing Ocean's Kingdom instantly brought back treasured memories of the beautiful ballet and the once in a lifetime experience we had during that magical evening in New York.
