I'm heading for 49 and have been a fan since the age of 3. Tagged along with my big bro and saw A Hard Day's Night and HELP! on the big screen, every day for a week when they were new.
One of my earliest memories from then, is when I learned to use scissors - by cutting the faces of The Beatles from those over-sized tickets from the movie theatre.

Thanx for your reply...I was at Halifax and slept on the ground(in a sleeping bag) for two nights on the commons. And I wouldn't have had it any other way, what an exciting time I had! Even though the younger people there all thought I was bonkers, I didn't care. Loved every minute and now I have realized my dream of seeing Paul in concert and going to a different country, I'm left feeling lost what's my next adventure?

I am well over 50 and I loved the Beatles the moment I saw them on the Ed Sullivan show. McCartney was my immediate favorite, I loved his voice and thought it was cool to be playing guitar left handed. I still remember my 6th grade nun telling my class they were a fad and you will never hear from them in a few months. After the Beatles, I enjoyed MCartney's work with Wings and solo career. I saw him live for the first time in 1976 at Madison Square Garden (Wings Over America). It was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen even to this day. I have enjoyed McCartney's recordings for many years (even with the ups and downs) and think the last 15-20 years has been a incredibly creative period for McCartney. I was thrilled to see him again a couple of weeks ago at Citifield and had a blast with my wife singing and dancing to McCartney songs. I never would have dreamed forty something years ago when I was a young boy that I would still be hearing McCartney singing songs of my and his youth. Finally, I am proud to say that both my daughters love the Beatles and they are 20 and 18.

Wonderful, two replys! Thanx, yankeefan7, I was thrilled to be at the Halifax show. Didn't think it would ever happen after all these yrs. A memory that will last as long as I live! In my case, I was 13 when the beatles first came into the spotlight. And all the girls had a crush on "the cute one" but I had a special claim on Paul, I was born on his 9th birthday! It was as if I didn't quite believe that he was a real person until he walked up to the edge of the stage and smiled my way! I froze like a deer caught in the headlights, I wasn't sure what todo, so I just stood there in shock! SORRY PAUL!!

We're the same age. I know after being on the board for some time, there are quite a few people here in their late 50's and early 60's. I won't name any names though.
Remember that in 1964 we were among the younger fans. Those older teenagers are still around somewhere! -
I am one. I grew up to the Beatles music and stood in awe as they captured the world with their wits and music. Tho I was a young adolescent at the time, I knew just how special they were. Unfortunately, I was never able to see them live as a band. I missed John altogehter, but did see George in the late 70's, Ringo a few years ago on his All Star Tour and I see Paul whenever I can. God bless em all!

I'm 50. I remember watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. We got dressed up in our dresses with the poofy petticoats so we could dance while watching. My mother was quite young when she had us (she's the same age as Paul), so it was excitement all around.

I am 57 & have been a fan (Beatles & Paul) since I was 12 years old, I have not seen paul in concert since Liverpool in 2003! so I am hoping he tours at home soon moira

Well, i think i can probably beat you all. Am i the oldest person on here? I am 60+ 7 months old and have been a Beatles/Paul fan for 46+ years. I can still remember the moment when i first heard Please Please Me (i was a bit late catching on, as can't recall Love Me Do until later), at the Youth Club i attended. I was hooked, got the Please Please Me LP (Album) and never looked back. I did the lot, joined the fan club, bought every record etc. Sadly, never saw the Beatles. Queued for tickets in Wolverhampton(should have been at school) waited outside the 'Gaumont' in Birmingham with hundreds of other hopeful's for a glimpse of them. BUT, got to see Paul 3 times, which made up for my past disappointments big time. I am proud to be a Paul fan and I tell everyone that i am.

I saw George on the "Dark Horse" tour and it was ok, his voice was in bad shape. (very hoarse). I was very lucky to be at the Elton John concert when John showed up many years ago at MSG. I have seen McCartneyabout 5 times and loved everyone. Unfortunately, never got around to seeing Ringo.

Either way there's a whole band of crumblies on this board all old enough to remember the boys and Macca in full flight and in B&W. And let's be honest there are a few on here who probably went to Rudolph Valentino's funeral...... -

I am 56 and proud of it, still going to concerts and riding my horse. I am going to see Paul this week at Fenway, my other favorite thing to do, and I hope he gets to see my sign!! I have field seats so I can hope! I have been to many of his concerts including the Boston Garden when I was 12, 20 minutes on stage and people passing out and it was crazy, I was having a blast. I too remember watching the Ed Sullivan show. My parents always told me it wouldn't last, I wish they had lived to see that they are still a part of my life. Bring on the concert in Boston, I will be there with my Beatle tattoos' and all.

I'm one. Macca was tremendous in DC last night. I thought it was the best concert of his that I've ever seen. That goes back to Wings and all the other tours. And I've seen them all in the US. He was awesome.

We're more or less the same age surely and I remember muffin the mule......got 6 months for it!..... So you should have some 'vague' recollections of the late 60's at least surely. When are you due your Saga brochure?...... -
I'm not over 50 as I am only 21
but I've been a fan of The Beatles/Paul since I was 13.
