Fans over 50?

You know I hit middle age several years ago and now I am officially old and it does take up most of my time
-
I know I've reached old age......the day after my 51st birthday I end up in hospital. It's the slippery slope I tell ya! Right down the the big black pit! Eternal darkness beckons, or in my case eternal light, as those fire I'll be stoking will give off a fierce glow I bet!..... liverpoolbride Hello there stranger.... Where've you been at? Has someone started another site and not told us lot on here. Is that where you've been lurking? There's a awful lot gone missing. I'm thinking about posting some of their ugly mugshots (or in Moggy's case Moggyshots) on the side of milk cartons in the hope that someone might recognise them and have them arrested before they come into contact with decent types like meself! Thanks for the b'day greetings.....you're a good soul! Talking of old over 50 types and Moggy in the same sentence.....is he too good for us now he's found facebook and NME......he's been hanging around there posting Macca/Beatle related comments and declining to visit us on here....we're too old for him now he's found Paul's stash of henna.....

Birthday boy(I always stretch it into a birthday week) David...are you serious that you were in the hospital? What happened? Too much partying?
-
oobu24 Don't worry, I am like you and stretch it as far as I can....(which at my age is always a bit risky!)....as long as there's still wine and beer in the fridge my birthday continues......sadly we're nearly all out. I'd like to know what the wife has been doing while I've been in hospital.....partying no doubt! The reason for my internment? My wonky old left eye again......with my condition if I get an eye infection I have to spent days in hospital and get needles in the eye...... I have seven bottles of steroids and betas that I've got to flood my eye with 4-6 times a day.....it's never bloody ending! This smiley is uncannily like me most days..... ......and no I ain't winking, that's actually how I look!
-
OUCH! Needles in the eye? OMGoodness! That sounds terrible. You should have brought that wine & beer to the hospital with you & then you'd handle it all much better! Although I prefer my beer frozen! beer slushies for all! Do you have to wear an eye patch when you get out? Aye! Feel better!
-
oobu24 Can you imagine taking beer and wine into hospital....the staff here in the UK would get it and down it before I even lay down on the gurney.....and can you imagine entrusting your eye to a sozzled nurse or doctor.... :lol The needle in the eye ain't the problem it's the aching eye socket and the heat when you've got an infection......like someone has stuck a bloody red hot poker in your eye.....OUCH! Got a cornea transplant to look forward to on the 7th November too. Life just keeps on givin' don't it..... : No eye patch though (makes a change....NHS eye patches don't make you look like Captain Jack Sparrow, just a complete tw*t!), just walk about with a parrot on me shoulder and Kiera Knightly on me arm..... She's bloody sexy as a girl pirate! She can shivver me timber anytime!
-
LOL! Ain't aging grand? Good luck with Kiera though.
-
I shall be reaching a new decade in my life very, very, very soon.
-
David, I'm an O.R. nurse (operating theatre to you ) and have done many corneal transplants. Good luck with yours mate!

QUOTE Liverpoolbride: Since June 18th, I'm now over 60! And not as good shape anymore. Can't travel or chase PM around like I once could...ONLY TWICE(Halifax 2009 and Pittsburgh 2010) I'm glad I had that chance, I'll never regret Halifax!
-
Well, I'm already 64 and still around!!

I'll be 63 on August 12th. Still feel like a teenager when I listen to Paul.
-
Nine years to go for me, but I feel more at home in this thread. No bickering.
