Nancy..looks like you never had to go far to see anybody. I missed out on seeing Paul in 2002 the only time I could have gone to a show almost in my home town. 2002 was the yr. I got married(again) and I was very busy that yr. OH well, I saw him in Halifax NS and that was an adventure I never would have missed!! My hometown during rush hour!!

Yeah, it's been great! I could kick myself for not going in 2005, but money was tighter then. I'm originally from Cleveland, OH and that's where I saw Tom Jones several times (also saw him in Atlanta twice) and Elvis once. Love the photo btw!

OK, fine. I admit it. This month I left behind my 40's and joined the 50 club. But just because I am officially old does not mean I can be pushed around. After all, I share my August birthday with: 1. Sean Penn 2. Robert DeNiro 3. Mae West Nobody better mess me with here.
I also admit I also joined the 50 clob in August. People ask do I feel much older. I say I do. I guess there is something about 50 that sounds much older than forty something. 70 doesn't seem that far away.

Age is a mental state.

Age is a mental state.
Most of the time I believe that. Some days my over 60 body betrays me.

YES! I know what you mean..it wasn't till I hit 60 that I started to feel my age catching up with me. I live with pain most of the time now..and that's mental!!

I definitely do not have pain every day. There are some things that are definitely not as easy to do as they once were. I look at my 88 year old parents in wonder and they tell me they have pain daily and constantly. I don't even mention my minor pains to them.

Not gonna let this fall off the pg.: Can anyone tell their story of how your first experience was the first time you heard of the Beatles? First song..first pic? Anything you might want to share?
-
First song... I Want To Hold Your Hand Dec. 1963 (I was 8 1/2) Kept hearing "The Beatles Are Coming...The Beatles Are Coming!" I was immediately hooked, especially after I saw pictures of them in the paper. Started a bulletin board of clippings, which rapidly grew into a scrapbook--lost count how many scrapbooks I have! Finally just saved clipping in folders labled with the year!! Of course the first time I saw them perform (on TV) was Ed Sullivan's show and All My Loving was the first song they played (Feb. 9, 1964) I remember it like it was yesterday! (JOHN: "Sorry girls, he's married!")

I remember to hear Love me do at the radio, maybe on 1964, I was 10, near to 11...then I went with school mates to The Beatles Club...I think it was my first escapade as teenager, without permission of my mother...and it was great I guess this guys meant a lot to me as to challenge the authority of my mom...Also I remember, dance all the album "Please, please me" at teen parties...See the movies, one and twice, make photo albums, write his names on my copybooks, and many little things like this...in general the best time of my youth

This is very similar to my memories only I was 12. After the Ed Sullivan show, I got a Beatles hair cut. Was the talk of the school.

I had a Beatle haircut from about age 10 to 15! Here I am at age 12 in '67 complete with paisley Nehru jacket & pants, sitting in the lotus position and flashing a peace sign! P.S. Also got wire-rimmed glasses in 7th grade. At first it was just me and a boy classmate who had them and then later seemed like everyone got them!

But time passes...then, your grown and your daughter is getting married! How could it be..she was 5 yrs. old just yesterday, right?! http://www.facebook.com/marcia.n.ward?sk=wall&v=wall#!/marcia.n.ward

Ha Ha, Nancy! Glad to know I wasn't the only girl who got a Beatle haircut! I remember stopping in a beauty parlor on my way home from school one day, and asking if they did Beatle haircuts. They said sure, so I got one. Afterwards, no one recognized me, not even my mother! Besides my hair being shorter, and having bangs, for some reason it was suddenly so much darker! Everyone said I looked just like Paul, and people I didn't even know would come up to me to tell me that. (Knowing me, I probably told some of them stories about being a distant relative or something when they asked!) Made lots of new friends because of that haircut! (My closest, oldest friends still call me Paul!) Fun memories...(I also had a Nehru shirt in 1967. No glasses, though, at least not then!)
-
I didn't wear glasses back then either. Worn lots of wire rimmed glasses since.

No, I didn't get a Beatle hair cut. I was going for the Jane Asher look, but never really pulled it off!
