Anyone remember this?
-
Yes, I do remember that. It was one of the records I played on my little kid record player.
-
BUMP I just want to say...even thou I didn't get to see the Beatles perform live, it still was the most wonderful time to live in! I still can't believe Ringo will turn 70 in July, couldn't have been that long ago!!
-
Another of the many recordings of the day, do you remember?
-
Hey Liverpool Bride, Haven't heard these two (your last 2 uTubes) in decades! Thanks for sharing

Well, my year of birth is in my login name. My first recollection is She loves you being a hit in Holland. I saw The Beatles minus Ringo plus Jimmy Nicols when they did a boat trip in the canals of Amsterdam. Never saw the band live, though. I did see Ringo (twice) and Paul a couple of times, last time last year. I never saw John or George, but I did see a concert of Yoko, in The Hague, 1986 or so.

I'm almost 53 , and if you want to get technical about it we in our 50's are not first generation fans-our big brothers and big sisters are.I have one sister Paul's age,and one who just turned 60,and they were kids when The Beatles came along.Teen-agers. I was about 13 when The Fab 4 called it quits. As for being lucky enough to witness The whole thing-Yeah it was pretty incredible.all of that screaming and crying and fainting.. They did change the world for the better. The Beatles pulled America out of a major depression. Our beloved President was murdered 3 months before they came here. I've never seen anything remotely like Beatlemania, and I'm sure I won't see it again. The Beatles in my opinion, were one of the only good things about living in America in the sixties.

I was 13 yrs. old when The Beales first came into my life and that was just too young for me to have seen them live. It was really a fun time to live in. Now I'm just another oldy moldy...no one wants to know me.

If your parents (the other generation) weren't fans then of course we are 1st gen fans.
-
Exactly. The generation before us (our parents) were not fans. We are the first generation fans.

Even though I am in my 20s and none of my parents or grandparents were fans..does that still make me a 1st generation fan?

I know what you mean...I think of the 1st generation Beatle fans as the first to have listened and liked the Beatles. In other words my generation, right?

LOL! I think we may be overthinking this. I would think a 1st gen fan would be one that actually was there watching the Beatles on TV that 1st night. So prolly mostly people in their 50s. BarbB! You are only in your 20s : You could be my daughter! Then you'd be 2nd gen! LOL!!! (I thought you were older cos we keep getting yelled at by the same people!)

Yes, I'm a baby I know. Thanks for clearing that up though, it got confusing. Hey, it shows that it doesn't matter what age you are to have stuff in common, no?
-
No not a baby! Wish I was back there again but knew what I know now!

Save your money. Do some investing & plan for your future. OH...and meet someone RICH (Paul would do nicely...well actually too old for you but get someone comparable), get married & be happy!

I'll do my best. Thanks for the advice, and who knows, Paul might get interested. LOL
