Fascinating stuff !! Is this the thread where "double" cd song listings for "Flowers in the Dirt" are given, stating that "Flowers" was originally meant to be a 2 cd release? Fascinated to discover that, as there was so much variety, so many songs on "Flowers" anyway.
I think they mean Off The Ground. There was enough material recorded for that album for a two disc set, and there are some two-disc versions. Very rare to find now. Flowers could have been a double too, mainly because there were the leftover tracks from the discarded Return to Pepperland project between Press to Play and Flowers. Most of those have still never seen official release. The Paul McCartney Anthology awaits!

Maybe Paul has been changing his mind about what to include. Maybe there were problems with the remastering. Who knows? But I think he and Concord took a lesson from the Lennon reissues. Yoko reissued everything at once last September and it was too much.
I know I'll get thirty lashes for being negative with my criticism again, but the Lennon reissues were poorly done. Many who bought the LENNON SIGNATURE BOX have complained about the poor packaging; no one thought to protect the discs with anti-static sleeves (a la the Beatles remasters) and there are no pins to hold the cd's in place, resulting in scratched discs galore. The covers themselves are flimsy, and no attempt was made to remain consistent with the original album art. Also, with a title like THE JOHN LENNON SIGNATURE BOX, doesn't it follow to use a reproduction of Lennon's actual signature, as opposed to commissioning some artist in Europe to create an approximation of it? :
A very disappointing set, to be sure. I don't know what you mean by being negative with your criticism, LP. When something's naff, it's pretty close to trolling to make glowing pronouncements about it...

I don't think Yoko had the patience to handle Lennon's reissues the way they should have been handled. So she threw it all out there at once. And EMI has not exactly been flush with cash lately so it's no surprise they went on the cheap for these issues. It was all about a final cash grab by Yoko and EMI before the CD market completely collapses. I'm not sure why you think you are the only person who offers criticism on these boards. I haven't been around here very long but all I had to do was read the past threads to see that there are plenty of people (including relative newbies like me) who are not shy about critiquing the aspects of Paul's work that they don't like. And there are others who are uncomfortable with such criticism. It's a mix here and always has been. Some of Paul's biggest fans here are also some of his biggest critics.

http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-national/exclusive-the-inside-story-on-what-s-coming-the-paul-mccartney-reissues The word is that "Ram" will be next. "Ram," released in 1971, was the followup album to "McCartney." It yielded the single "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," which became an AM favorite and topped the charts. There's no specific release date on the new "Ram" reissue, but it's likely we'll see it out by the end of 2011. After that, the source said, there will be more Wings reissues, though there's no specific albums or release dates known yet. The previous reports of "Chaos & Creation in the Backyard," "Driving Rain" "Press to Play," etc., being reissued were not correct. Reissues of these albums is not imminent.

Release date for McCartney I & II, plus Chaos, Driving Rain and Run Devil Run officially confirmed: http://www.maccablog.com/en/n-remasteredalbums-mccartneyiandmccartneyii-tobereleasedon6thjune-8110.html

Thank you for the news. So, Chaos And Creation, Driving Rain & Run Devil Run are coming out first, two weeks ahead of McCartney & McCartney II. But if the former three albums have not been remastered and are the same as the previous versions, it begs the question why re-release them?

Because they're no longer being released or sold under EMI. This is simply to put them out under the Concord label. That's all.

And their the three that won't be remastered or have additional recordings added? Ok, i see that now.

I wonder if those 3 might get a vinyl release here in the US finally? only released on vinyl in the UK I think, right? I might buy all 3 if that happens.
-
For the 3 albums, our source says it'll be a standard version like when released by EMI.
-
well i hope they'll be in the nice case not those plastic cases. And they could have a few bonus tracks in each album
-
I hope that they will release them all in 96/24 bit audio...not expecting it though. Love the way BOTR sounds....I'm guessing they might do it for the remasters at least.

It's just copying the post made by the person who leaked this info. Nothing is official as of now. Remember he said that tracklisting was how it stood as of this past February. Things will probably change before the release but I do hope most of what's listed there (if not all of it) will be on the final version.

Rudolph should be on the Venus and Mars remaster as it was recorded in 1975 and Goodnight Tonight was recorded at the end of London Town and before BTTE so it will remain to be seen where that song will turn up. You'll notice "Lunch Box/Odd Sox" is missing as well even though it was the b-side to the live version of "Coming Up". Lunch Box was recorded in 1975 during Venus and Mars so it should be on that remaster but if you recall "Country Dreamer" was released with the BOTR remaster (since it was a b-side) even though it was a Red Rose Speedway song so who knows how the songs with different recording and release dates will turn up.

Wonderful Christmastime should be included on McCartney 2 since it was recorded in the summer of 79 during sessions for McCartney 2 and features only Macca.

I guess they're deciding where to place particular songs on a track-by-track basis. Makes sense. "Country Dreamer" fits just fine on BOTR, but "My Carnival" would seem totally out of place on Press To Play.
