As I said in the rumors thread, I would really like to see Paul/Flood perform "Outta' Sight" with The Bloody Beetroots at this event. Paul really needs to make the best of this opportunity and keep the focus on his new music. The kiddies will love it.

Is this the first time that Paul is not on top of a lineup? [/url]

Some heads are gonna roll over JT's name being over PM's.
-
Elton John's name needs to be over Justin Timberlake as well.
-
Actually, I think Elton loves JT being on top of him. "ZING!"

someone tweeted that perhaps a summer intern did the website update. Looks like Paul is performing on Sat. night. http://festival.iheart.com/iheartmusicfestival/festival.php

The question I have is who's equipment will be used? JT's lights and video or Paul's multi million dollar set. and who will have three hours and who will get the hour and half.
-
Looks like an arena stage at MGM Grand. Not sure how the staging will be handled, probably like an awards show. Lights and sound will be in place, McCartney and co. will bring amps, guitars, drums???? Or maybe not. Maybe just bring guitars. And keyboards. Who the heck knows??

Here's Aerosmith's set from last year:
Pretty big, actually. -

Looks like JT is headliner so I'd guess JT has the longer set.

MGM Grand is an arena. I don't know the capacity but it's not all that big.

15,000 seems about right. Except for the joy of performing, I wonder what Paul's motivation for doing this gig is? Maybe the money. But he could do a show here by himself and get the fee as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb and conclude that Paul's marketing team has wisely scheduled Paul for this event -- for the sole purpose of actually giving his new album exposure to an active, commercial consumer-market outside of his fan-base.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. It would be amazing if Paul and band walked out and played a 45 min. set of brand new songs, then ended or encored with GET BACK or HELTER SKELTER.

Works for me.

I don't think the set will be completely made up of new songs, but I agree that there probably will be a few tossed in there, since I am assuming that this show will be streamed live on iHeart radio, and exposure for the new album is the only reason that I can think of for Paul to get added to a show that is already sold out, since he won't generate any more ticket sales, except in the resale market. Cheapest ticket on StubHub this morning for the Sat. night show was about $600-ish for a balcony seat.
