veggieburgher:
I missed the meetup last time. This is my first time in front but I have done a few soundchecks.
Well, this time we'll all be meeting up at the reception before/after soundcheck. It's only my 2nd time. I'm kinda excited to be able to do all of this so close to home

Considering VIP package. Anybody know how many seats are on each row in the floor sections? Never been to Des Moines before. Thanks!
I called the ticket office yesterday and was told there were 14 seats across in each section of the floor and that they would keep the aisles. I really don't believe there will be aisles in the first few rows. When I did VIP at Lincoln in 2014, the seating chart showed aisles and there were none. I had 3rd row, Seat 11 there and was about 1 seat off center of Paul's mic. I have 3rd row, seat 12 this time so I'm hoping it's about the same. I hope you have fun in Des Moines! I don't live there but am close so if I can answer any questions, let me know and I'll try 2:

Congrats!
Thanks. I think the main reason I went for front row is for the extra leg room.

I have the opposite problem. At just over 5', I always have leg room but can't see over anyone that's 5'7" or taller! Anything further than rows 3-4 and I'm probably looking at someone's belt loops :

Good luck if you decide to go for it! I checked earlier today and looks like front row is sold out but I think there was still something left in all of the other VIP pkgs. I honestly didn't think I'd do another one . . .what can I say? The view from the 3rd row is addictive :

Totally! I've done soundcheck once before and it was heavenly. But if I stick with the $250 tickets, I can go to more concerts! Even with getting personal eye contact from the man himself, it's hard to justify spending that much just for one show.

Glad you got something good. I sat in a similar spot in KC. Lower row (B I think) but same section. What was bizarre is that I was almost closer to the corner of the stage than the front row on the floor. And you are welcome - happy to help!

Yeah, I like it because you are roughly on eye level with Paul, instead of looking up at him from the floor. Plus, you overlook the guitar pit and all kinds of interesting stuff is going on down there. But the biggest bonus is when the band enters and exits on that side so you can see them and wave to them. Last year in Sacramento I sat in that section and when Paul was leaving we were all hanging over the barricade waving and Paul walked over (he is below us on the floor now), jumped up and high-fived the girl standing right next to me (she was leaning down)! We were all in shock. Seeing Paul jump up like that was the last thing I thought he would do!! Then I high-fived the girl who high-fived Paul so maybe I got some Sir Paul DNA?? LOL!

Just in case anyone is interested, a local radio station in Des Moines (KIOA) is doing a "Wall to Wall Paul" weekend starting at 4 p.m. today. You can listen on their website: http://kioa.com/

$42?! Sheesh . . . one of the alledged great things about this arena not using TM was supposed to be smaller fees I'm so lucky the extra fee for my Hot Sound Package was only $7
-
I ended up getting row 15 on the floor for $250 plus fees. On further investigation, it looks like I got pretty lucky with that. Judging by what I have seen on the ticket site, row 14 is the gold package and costs $700. So I got one row back and paid $450 less.

My $167 ticket had a $31 fee.
