A DVD of Paul on the Tonight Show in 1984.
a whole dvd of it? Is that the birthday cake one? I love Beatles & solo Beatles DVDs.
Yes! He comes out with a birthday cake and then does that tiny little rendition of "You Are my Sunshine" at the end. It even has all the old commercials on there from my childhood, ha! Me too! I was supposed to save this for my recovery in two weeks but I couldn't wait and watched it last night. But I have the DVD set of every Beatles' appearance on TV (I think it's about 17 DVDs?) that I still have a lot to watch of, so there will be that.
I'll have to check my collection to see if I have that 1984 Tonight Show one. Where did you get this 17 DVD set?!!

I've got a 20 DVD set of Beatles. Can't remember the name of it right now. The Paul Tonight show I have on 2 different compilations of appearances. A 2 disc 80s compilation & a 7 disc Inside the Archives. It may possibly be on a few others as well. edit to add...I checked on the Beatles set & it is 28 discs!

Holy crap! Where do you guys get this stuff? I checked & I do have the Paul 1984 Tonight Show that I recorded (on VHS of course!) when it was first on. I have pages & pages of stuff written out that I recorded on tape. I need to figure out how to record onto a DVD off the DVR and the VCR. I have a machine my daughter gave me ages ago & I never took the time to figure it out. I know, dumb! My first step is to buy the DVR-R discs or whatever the heck they're called! Help!

Some are bootlegs & some are compilations by fans. Some fans are really into cleaning up video & audio & have done tremendous jobs on some of this stuff. Transferring from a VHS to a DVD is quite time consuming. I was doing that a bit. I have a unit that is a VHS player & a DVD recorder so I could record from one to the other. If you have ? send me an email.

The 1984 Tonight Show I found on Amazon. Like oobu said ahead of me earlier there are a lot of folks out there that have made compilations and cleaned up old videos to put on DVDs. I believe that is what the 17 DVD set of the Beatles' TV appearances is. I'll try to find where I got it from and will PM you the info!

The Beatles are coming! They got here today...minus John. I need to find a John. (I also posted this in the Beatles section a few days ago) cE9s4PsNGPBRmT(,rdQ!~~60_35.JPG)

While I have a number of music bootleg CDs of Paul's music, I only have two television show appearances bootlegged on DVD - one is the James Paul McCartney Special from 1973, then Paul's 1999 (or was it 2000) appearance on the Parkinson's Show (the one where he sang about 'two fingers' - and debuted Your Loving Flame)...I watch a lot of specials on Youtube that I wish I had on DVD, including the 48 Hours special that was filmed during his 1989/90 World Tour and a few others...I also wouldn't mind having his appearances on SNL on a DVD, but on the entire episodes - just the skits he appeared in as well as (obviously) his music performances...Starting right back in 1980 with the 'good father' right up through last year (and especially the Chris Farley skit...LOL)

The 48 hours show about that girl trying to meet him? Joy...was that her name? THAT was a great story. And I love the Father Sarducci bits too!

I think that woman did get to meet Paul after the show was taped and Paul saw her plight...but during the episode itself, the best she got was a close brush with Paul's limo (and Paul waving) while he entered the arena in Chicago Btw, spotted my typo - meant to say 'but NOT the entire episodes' (re: having Paul's SNL appearances on DVD) ops:

All my stuff is on VHS, but if Paul or The Beatles were on TV (or anything related to them) since 1983 (when I got my first VCR for the outrageous sum of $600!) I have it!

Our 1st VCR cost $1000.00. It was a stero Panasonic & wa probably from 1979 or 80.

Our grandfather got us our first VCR, maybe 1981 or so, and I remember how HUGE it was. It may have been a panasonic as well. Remember those little remote like things you use to have to use to pause when recording?

I wonder how long before DVD players are obsolete. I love my little portable one...I carry it all over.

I just finished reading the LIFE mag Paul issue (which of course talks about the Beatles in detail too) Really good issue and lots of great photos!

Somebody used my credit card to order some merchandise from Live Nation. It wasn't me so I called to cancel CC. Received an email that a Wings t- shirt that is not my size is on the way. I don't know what address it's being sent to but I am not paying for it.

I hope you informed Live Nation. Hey, at least the person is a Wings fan! (jk)

I just bought one too! In my store there was only a PAUL issue, are they doing ones for each Beatle?

Not to my knowledge. I guess they figured that cute Paul would sell more copies!
