Paris, France - Stade de France - June 11, 2015 - ARCHIVE
-
Surely cell phones will be allowed in the venue, and hopefully so will amateur cameras and backpacks, but I have no idea what the regular policy is for concerts in that stadium.
-
There is a terrific Irish pub (yes, in Paris!) called Paddy Whacks at 4 blvd Anatole France a short 5 minute walk and within sight of the Stade which would make for a great pre-concert gathering spot for board members if anyone is interested. Let me know so I can tell the manager how many to expect.

Were tickets for this concert sold online only or at a physical site as well? If so, where? I'm asking because there are usually flyers advertising the show at the physical sales point, and I'll try to get one for my collection while I'm in town. I'm aware that they are being used in the UK, so I was wondering about France.

I can't believe that in a few weeks i'll see Paul !

Just heard the news that the Eiffel Tower was shut down due to pickpockets! Quel catastrophe! Hope it reopens in time for all those planning on visiting!
-
Quel horror, c'est vrai, Bernie1cat! Hubby has never been to the tower, so certainly hope it will be open for our visit nest month. If timing works out, we would be interested in meeting up with board members at the pub. We are doing the Sound Check package, however, so I'm not sure if we will be able to leave the venue in between it and the show. Where are you in WI? I grew up in La Crosse--hence my first Paul show being in the great upper Midwest.

Last I heard the Tower was reopened. Apparently the closure was due to vendors and Tower staff staging a walkout over a recent increase in petty theft and pickpocket activity around the Tower area. When in France (or anywhere in Europe) remember this phrase...Nous sommes en greve (on strike!)! Work stoppages can happen on short notice anytime, anywhere!

Pas de greves! At least not on the Eurostar around 11 June! Saw Paul in London last night--magnifique, bien sur! Looking forward to bontemps en Paris!!
-
Wow I'm very lucky. I was at the 02 concert in London on Saturday night which was amazing. It was the best I've seen him and he's always great. I've just got tickets for this concert on the 11th June in Paris. It will be great to see him there and in such a great venue.
-
Anyone else doing soundcheck package? I know this is an old subject, but just wanting to know when I can expect tickets. Less than 2 weeks till I leave so getting anxious because I've heard nothing.
-
Hi Mary, We are going to the soundcheck. We just received our tickets (in London) yesterday, 29 May. Check-in is at 1530 hours. If the London O2 soundcheck is any guide, it will be about two hours until the actual soundcheck. It lasted a little under an hour. There is no hospitality in the soundcheck packages so you leave the venue and are on your own. (They did not scan our tickets for entry to the soundcheck, only when we came back for the actual show.) Bernie1cat is organizing a get-together before the show at Paddy Whacks, which looks to be about a 10-minute walk (back up northwest of the Metro Station) from the Stade de France. If timing holds from London, we should be finished with the soundcheck at about 1830 hours and then the show starts at 2000 hours. There is the same video from the other OUT THERE shows as the pre-show and Paul takes the stage about 30 minutes past the posted show time, i.e., circa 2030 hours for Paris. The show lasts three hours. Anyone research yet how late the Metro runs in Paris?

NMFan1, Thanks for the info. We have done many sound checks in the US, but it seems these are quite different. Now I am nervous about the tickets. Did you receive any notification that the tickets had shipped via email? Thanks, Mary

5th-beatle:
A question to all French fans: I have just been told by Stade de France on twitter that no cameras will be allowed at the concert. Is that their usual policy? I thought only professional cameras would be forbidden.
I also wondered about this -- it's printed on the ticket (it's in French but I'm pretty sure it says cameras are banned). Non-professional cameras have been allowed at Paul's concerts for at least the last 6-7 years. Does anyone know if there is a rule at this venue that cameras aren't permitted? It doesn't make a lot of sense because of course we can always take pictures with our phones. But I really like to take my pocket point & shoot since it's so much better in low lighting. Thanks!
