I neglect Flaming Pie so much, I just never listen to it. to me I nearly consider Flaming Pie more as just the single song. I love that song, never play the album. I'm going to play the album and review it, and start a thread about it. Stay tuned
You don't know what you're missing. Seriously.

Granted, "Looking For Changes" could be improved lyrically, and "Off The Ground" would've been better served if Paul had allowed it to remain an acoustic, folky song before he and Wix overkilled its production, but there are some very, very strong songs on the album -- and it "plays" well. There's not one weak song Press To Play. Ram, as inventive as it is, lacks an overall cohesiveness and energy -- which is why I don't listen to it regularly.

What an interesting list. It's great to see someone appreciate Ecce Cor Meum and Ocean's Kingdom that highly. Huh. Food for thought.

Why thanks for that... to me Ecce Cor Meum and Electric Arguments are two of Paul's most brilliant works. I have a great love for Classical music. Wish I could have seen Ecce Cor Meum... Ocean's Kingdom was such a wonderful ballet. Really glad I got to see that Hope to have a DVD for that one day!!

I think PTP has some really good songs on it like Footprints, Good Times Coming/ Feel The Sun and Talk More Talk, but is let down by Move Over Busker, Angry and However Absurd which are turgid and boring. It's interesting how different fans see things, i'm the opposite on RAM, i feel it is cohesive and has energy to burn. I think even the throwaway songs, 3 Legs and Smile Away have charm and are very playful. The album has more "classic" songs on it than any other Paul album, and that includes Band On The Run. Too Many People, Dear Boy, Uncle Albert/ Admiral Halsey, Monkberry Moon Delight and The Back Seat Of My Car are Paul at his inventive best, plus they contain vocals of outstanding quality and variety.
