I can't emphasize enough how grateful (note: embarrassing misspelling fixed) I am that Paul's KOTB album took a classy, sophisticated approach.
Hmmm... but it's called Kisses on the Bottom!!
It's just a lyric from one of the songs. What else would he be referring to?
The title is just about as tacky as it's possible to be. That's the only point I'm making.

I like the title of the album just fine. The tongue in cheek thing works well, and its a great song that the lyric comes from. all great songs. I watched about 5 minutes of the vid and I cannot wait to sit down and watch it. I love that setting, a room full of musicians making the music happen. Paul on the spot, loving the songs as you can see. and Abe was spot on on the backing vocals I saw, I think the first song was 'Kisses on the Bottom'. great players playing well, video looks cool.

I'm still amazed that so many folks on the forum LIKE Kisses On the Bottom, as Paul sounds a bit like someone taking an asthma test instead of someone who is supposed to be singing on this album...

And I'm still amazed that people don't like the album. But sometimes an album just doesn't work for you. Personally I don't like Tug of War although I don't go out of my way to slam TOW. Paul has plenty of albums I do like, including KOTB, which I think is a quiet lovely little gem in his catalog. He's playing with his voice in different ways, as he always does. It's soothing, it's moving, it's de-lovely.

So many good albums that he's made to fawn over...this is not one of them. At least in my eyes...errr...ears.

Basically the kind of video someone like me would like to have of every album. Studio session and the making of.

Yes, on that topic, it would be helpful if we were forewarned if they were going to reissue albums with a few extra tracks tacked on forcing us to buy another copy of the album if we want the additional material. They did this with Memory Almost Full too. It kind of negates the benefit of the Live Kisses free download.

I can't understand why they just didn't originally release the studio CD with all the bonus tracks (except the Christmas song which would have been a bit premature). And a separate release of all the live tracks. I would liked to have seen a DVD release of the complete performance. Live Kisses is good but the performance is broken up. I bought the deluxe CD and Live Kisses but probably won't be buying anymore Kisses material.
-
Definitely not buying anything else related to Kisses. Stop playing us, Paul. We are not rich gazillionaires like you.

They already had a deluxe KOTB AND a regular KOTB. Now the complete KOTB. What's next? The Son of KOTB? KOTB Strikes Back? KOTB: The Prequel? : No matter how you paint it, it's a rip-off for fans, especially given that we tend to buy Paul's releases when they're released, not 7 months later.

Kind of like Freddy Kruger or some of those spooky guys...just can't keep 'em down. And they totally KNOW that we all go & buy it the 1st go round...whether we care for it or not. Think I should start waiting for the reruns.

I'm not interested in,or prepared to waste my money on, 'downloads' anyway so this will be one release that I intend to keep well clear of.

I guess it's all about marketing. Trouble is that while people keep paying their dollars it looks like they will keep doing it. You'd need to be a millionaire to buy everything. I guess the best thing to do is to just enjoy the music and try and ignore the other stuff.

I know it takes a brave or foolhardy soul to question Lord Macca's business sense, but I think he's screwing himself out of sales with this strategy. When he releases his next album, the smart money is going to wait for a year in case he tries the bonus/deluxe/complete trick again.

this is one release I will wait for to find in the bargain bucket I love Macca but this is the worst project he has ever done

Well there are quite a few projects I would put before KOTB as the "worst he has ever done" (Give My Regard to Broad Street, Pipes of Peace, etc., etc). But that's just a personal preference and I happen to like KOTB quite a bit. The larger point: This won't end up in the bargain bucket. It's only a digital release, right?

Is it? I'm so confused about the various incarnations of 'Kisses" that I have no clue! All I know is I have the deluxe CD, the digital download (free from MPL) of Live Kisses, and the DVD/booklet of Live Kisses that I had pre-ordered ages ago on Amazon. What exactly is new on this 'Complete' Kisses?

The "Complete Kisses" is an "exclusive iTunes" release -- digital only. It includes the original album, 13 tracks from the Live at Capital Studios and 4 bonus tracks (including the Christmas song).

Well, I already have The Christmas Song on Holidays Rule, too. So it's all music, no video then?
