Setlist A for tonight.
McCartney wings his way to rocking open for arena PITTSBURGH - Blasting off with "Venus& Mars/Rockshow" Wednesday, music's biggest star launched the live entertainment era at Consol Energy Center. Paul McCartney picked that 1975 Wings tune, followed by another Wings tune, "Jet," to start his historic grand opening show for Pittsburgh's spacious new arena. A sold-out crowd came for the Beatles tunes, of course, and Sir Paul, looking and sounding fit, didn't make them wait long, singing "All My Loving" and "Got to Get You into my Life" within the first five songs. After his sixth song, "Highway" from his underrated band The Fireman, McCartney ditched his dark sports jacket, revealing his white shirt and suspenders. "OK, that is the big wardrobe change" he joked before shredding through Wings' "Let Me Roll It" and a brief but fiery cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" then a lovely "Long and Winding Road." Great place. Not too big. I think everyone has good seat. Confortable seat too. Sound is fine. Paul seemed to like it too

oh, that's good to hear!! We're in section 224, I'm hoping we can still maybe see the side of Paul's face or something, lol!

What a fabulous show!!!!! Paul-we love you so very much.....!!!! Hope you like our city and our new Consol Energy Center... Abe you really rock as do the rest of you! Thanx for doing "Get Back" I've lost my voice. We just got back from Primanti Bros in the strip-would've liked to have booked a room at the Omni or went gambling at the Rivers if we had the energy. Love to you all. B

Good night all... Sweet dreams!

Did he sing Ram On ?

Now that is the way to open an arena. Up and Coming / Grand Opening Celebration banners were hung in the surrounding streets and The Beatles / McCartney music was played through the arena's exterior sound system. And once inside, Paul and the band were surely on and rocked the place. Quite a night.

No but the French Wings fan that I am, has been happy with some Wings goodies ! I don't want to ruin the surprise for the last show tonight ! Check on the set list tomorrow. I want to get back !

It was beyond awesome!!! There was so many Wings songs, I was so happy!! I didn't stop dancing the entire night!! I missed the drive by and almost had front rows seats that somebody bought from under me and kinda got attacked by a crazy man when I got to the driveby spot earlier in the day but it was all so worth it!! I've already got a ticket to go back tonight and couldn't be more excited!! Now I gotta figure out what I'm going to wear! lol

Did you notice when he left the stage the first time and stopped to pick up something? I had gotten a Jalapena Hannah doll at a Pirate gane and threw that up to him. Wanted to get him something very Pittsburgh. Anyway, I managed to throw it to the exact right spot at the exact right time and he took it!!!! Awesome evening. I had alot of friends there who had never seen him before and they were absolutely blown away. One of my friends said she sort of discounted what I said about his shows thinking I was just overly enthusiastic (i.e insane), but now she is ready to go with me anywhere to see him. It is just an amazing experience. AndIi am lucky enough to get to have it again tonight. Can't wait!
