As a lot of you know, I'm writing a book about Paul McCartney concerts, fans, etc., and I'm honestly curious about one thing: What are you a fan of Paul McCartney? I'm trying to figure out how to get why Paul fans love him and his music so much, so what would your answer to this question be?

I'm not quite sure how to encapsulate that for the book.

Because he's a living legend. He's the Mozart and Beethoven of the 20th and 21st centuries.

If the book ever gets published, we'll talk then. ETA: I'd never include anything in the book that I didn't get permission for from the member who gave the quote, anyway. I'm not trying to cheat anyone out of anything, promise!

This is the hardest question to answer. I like everything about McCartney, The Beatles, Wings... McCARTNEY (SOLO)-- The fact that he dared to challenge his already wealthy back catalogue and write new (and good) stuff impresses me. WINGS-- They're fun to listen to. BEATLES-- The GREATEST band in the entire world. This one I can't put to words. Sorry.

                            7/15/11- Yankee Stadium
                            6/8/13- Barclays Center
                            7/5/14- Times Union Center
                            8/7/16- MetLife Stadium
                            9/15/17- Madison Square Garden

                            Thank you Paul!

It really isn't easy to explain in words, is it? This is the problem I'm facing. How in the world do you tell someone who doesn't know about Paul McCartney why people appreciate him and his music?

His energy is what did it for me, or -- at least -- that was the impetus. Like the rest of the globe, I knew his hits, and he was still a Top Ten recording artist when I was in high school, but it was the '89/'90 tour that manifested the breadth of what he had achieved. Staggering, to put it mildly. He DARED to out-do The Beatles...and damn-near did. He teaches us to look forward..not backward. The clincher, though, was his love for Linda. She is almost as integral to my admiration for Paul as his music.

His music is something that touches me and he has magic. He writes good songs that are from his life and you can feel it and it makes you hear more and more. It never happened with someone before.
