Paul's White Wristbands
-
Does anyone know what cause they support?
-
I think they're the make poverty history 'one' bracelets.....
-
I have them, they're the ONE bracelet to end poverty. Go to www.One.org to order them.

Actually, I think he has the one that is sold in the U.K. http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband/online.shtml

He wears two sometimes, so I suppose he could be wearing one of each! Or one of Ringo`s Peace and Love bands. But, yes, one of them is certainly Make Poverty History.
-
At the Love anniversary everyone looked like they were wearing a white wristband (In the pic I'm looking at Paul had 2, Ringo, Olivia & Guy had 1 and Yoko's sleeves are too long to see). Does anyone know which they are. Are they the make poverty history ones or something else?
-
I've never worn one of these, particularly long term as members have observed Paul does. Do they wear out or get grubby? - after all they are little more than thick elastic bands cheaply made for charitable promotional work. They were designed to be cheaply made so as to maximise profit from the small donation made to buy them. Martin

Paul normally wears the Make Poverty History white wristband along with Ringo's Peace and Love white wristband, which cannot be purchased. Ringo gives them to his friends.
-
I wear two, pink for breast cancer, purple for crohns & colitis. I wore the pink one everyday for 4 years, and it broke, got a new one. They don't stay dirty, nothing sticks to them.
-
I've been wearing a green band for a year now that supports the organ donation cause. It says 'donate life' and 'done vida'. It hasn't gotten dirty or cracked and still looks like new. I wear it in memory of my son, a full organ donor.
-
actually they're more durable than they seem. i've had mine on for two years and it still looks almost new. i also have paul's land mines bracelet which has worn out. the flower pattern on it has faded, so it's now just a plain green bracelet.
-
i wear a pink one to support a 60 km charity walk my mom does for breast cancer
-
They say Peace and Love on them. Ringo had them made for all of his friends. That's why you see Ringo Olivia and Guy with one. The other that Paul has is the Make Poverty History.

Actually the ONE band is extremely durable and after a year it's still like new. The "Make Poverty History" band, however is good, but not as nice as the ONE band. The other bands you get at the markets are the crumby ones, they last not even a year

Great!! I never knew what bracelets he wears...but now I can buy them!! Thank you everyone

i am a member of the ONE Campagain and have worn my white bracelet for almost three years, and it looks like new. I also wear a pink one that is from the Cancer Society, I have several friends whom are in various stages of cancer. If you are interested in getting involved in the ONE Campaign..juust go to ONE. org....you can get ten bracelets for ten dollars. then there is an awesome t-shirt I am ordering..with a map of Africa..it is really a nice shirt to wear for people to look at...and know we can all help fight poverty and AIDS in this world. Dunno if it's still out there, but to answer your question: I've worn a number of them - ranging from the LIVESTRONG bracelet, to the SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, to the SARMY one I'm currently wearing. And what I can say is - it depends on where you get it. Typically, the really good ones, such as the LIVESTRONG ones, ((and what not)) last VERY long. I tend to fidget and will stretch them or twist them etc... and that one never broke. I had it for a few years, too. My SARMY one is insanely durable, too - it's been through so much trauma it may need a therapist!! ((lol)) However, the ones bought at supermarkets or gas stations don't last that long. I guess the best way to tell is the thickness. The thicker the bracelet, the longer it lasts.... and now that I think about it, I didn't really answer your question so much as waste your time. I apologize. >.< Thanks for letting me know about the make poverty history/ONE bracelets!! I actually didn't know they existed, but charity is my life ((giving it, not receiving, lol.)) I like doing what I can. ^_^

I joined ONE, the spring of 2005...I love the org, and do a lot for it. The band I havve has been on my wrist since then, and it never has broken. I also got a cancer bracelet, as I have friends who have cancer, from the official site, worn it three years, and never broken. these two bands are thick and not flimsy. Sue

that's cool! I've been a firm supporter of the Give Life Foundation, and donate to other organizations regularly. when the holidays end and I get back to a steady pay check, I'll have to get one of the ONE bracelets - it's a cool cause. ^_^

The ONE org is a great cause...a lot of people involved, and nations. But it only takes ONE person at a time to help change this world, help to wipe out poverty, starvation, AIDS...and the concerts bring in great crowds..and there are so many celebs involved, it is great.
