Ironically McDonald's is attempting to open a vegetarian chain in India. I'm not sure if it will ever make it's way to the west, but it may not succeed too well. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/04/vegetarian-meat-free-mcdonalds-fast-food-chain-india_n_1855300.html

RE: Vegetarianism and Christianity
Vegetarianism dates back to early homo sapiens and other previous common ancestors/primates over 100,000 years ago. Studies have suggested that humans originally evolved to be herbivores due to our herbivorous prone structures, but culturally adapted into being omnivorous. Though these studies are not entirely conclusive, but does seem plausible if you look at the surrounding evidence.

RE: Veggies on Turkey Day?
I guess traditions are traditions; I work in a place of food service so I am well use to handling it all. I can still get enough satisfaction just by eating the side dishes.

RE: Why Do Men Like to Hunt?
Defending hunting while on this site is a belief as well as how you choose to disperse your beliefs. But there's no need to kindle the fire of discourse if you wish for it to die.

RE: Why Do Men Like to Hunt?
So is everyone on this board who is not a vegetarian also being disrespectful? I think Paul is well aware of the diverse beliefs among his fans and colleagues; he can suggest but he cannot enforce. A herbivorous world may be ideal, by it's hardly realistic.

. Also, men seem to favor their sort of dominating status over nature even to this day, they even like to use the Bible for justification. .
I've never gotten the stereotype of the submissive female and dominant male. I've seen submissive and dominant in both genders myself. I've even known professional dominant women and I'm a dominant woman myself. I guess the sexism of this statement bothers me because it isn't true. It's maybe because guys kill sissy? (Right back at you)
'Dominance' in the sense of sporting and controlled population, where the hunted becomes the dominated. And if the Bible must be referenced, domination of animals at human convenience is often quoted. But for a more accurate answer, I suggest taking a survey to a hunting forum to get a hunter's prospective. The only thing I am remotely trained to hunt are humans.

RE: Why Do Men Like to Hunt?
It's an ancient evolutionary trait; although some, including Darwin, argue that it is more of a cultural adaption rather than natural, based on our body structures. When plant life gave out, they had to eventually turn to animals for the sake of convenience. Also, men seem to favor their sort of dominating status over nature even to this day, they even like to use the Bible for justification. Regardless of its justification, modern necessity or if it's ethical, men each have their own reasons for doing so, especially if its at their best convenience.

RE: Lennon & Elton at MSG 1974
This was the night that Yoko an John were reunited after the 'lost weekend' which deemed Elton as godfather of Sean. So yes John did very much favor Elton also calling him the first new thing he has heard in the 70's. "Empty Garden" was written with much of this night in mind, which Elton will usually only sing during his MSG concerts.
