does anybody know anything about brian's CD, exept that it's going to be released in february? Can't wait!
Hi, Hanna!! It's very exciting isn't it. The CD is a bit of a mystery but that gives us more to look forward to. Brian did give us a bit of information in a newsletter earlier this month: Hello friends, near and far.... I'm basking in the afterglow of an amazing day in the studio. Yesterday, at Eldorado studios in Burbank, I recorded 2 new tracks for my new CD. With Abe Laboriel and Scott Shriner, from Weezer, we cut a new one which I wrote with Abe on Monday called "Night is Callin'" and a ballad I wrote about a week ago called "Now I Know". The day was fun and fast and we laughed our asses off all day. "Night" is a fairly ferocious rocker, with Abe exorcising some demons on his vintage Ludwig/Leedy drumkit, and Scott punishing his 1960 Fender bass through an old '70s Ampeg SVT [details for those who care!]. I played my old '57 Goldtop LP through a '59 Fender Bassman and '58 Gibson GA40 amps..It sounded a bit angry[!]... On the ballad I used a 1955 LP Junior which I bought [with Abe] in Lyon, France, in 1998.. The sound engineer, Joe Zook, is so talented, his sounds are... amazing. Man.. these are the days! Watch this space, ok? Take care, Brian http://www.brian-ray.com

hi Dawn - great timing for your NYC trip!!! I moved to AZ from the NYC area 10 months ago and i miss it terribly, esp. at this time of year. You will have a blast! I don't know if you have Starbucks Coffee Shops where you live, but i have one tip for you when you get to NYC - "Egg Nog Latte" !!!!!!!!! The most awesome coffee drink ever, i wait all year for it! Sip some while you enjoy the Rockefeller tree for me while i stare at the saguaro cactuses with Xmas lights on them
Thanks, I will try the coffee and take a photo of the tree !! I will try and post it here next week to remind you of NY. ( I have never seen cactuses with lights on them before !! )
Am back from New York and it was great, all the decorations ,lights and trees were lovely, but the one at Rockerfeller was amazing with beautiful angel statues near it.Did so many things, went up the Empire State building, which was lit up red and green for christmas. The veiw from the top at night was so lovely (and very windy ! )Walked in central park, (and found a lovely statue of Alice in wonderland ) and John Lennons garden, saw the ice rink,Times square,Pier 17,went on the staten Island ferry past the statue of liberty. And also did loads of shopping,Macy's was huge,Bloomingdales and more So now i think i need a holiday ,to get over the holiday ! Well i have probably now bored you all completly, so i will finish my unpacking. http://www.darkveil.co.uk/cny01.jpg http://www.darkveil.co.uk/cny02.jpg
Dawn, it sounds like a lovely time. I can close my eyes and visual your every step. NYC is an amazing city, isn't it? Your photos turned out great! Thanks for sharing.

I think she's asking about your next cartoon - you had said you were drawing a new one that we'd see after the holidays? Maybe the girls are expecting a "holiday themed" cartoon ... Abe and Brian on Santa's lap explaining that they've been good boys ???
