Sorry to make everyone wait so long, but I have a photo to post at last. Anyone interested????? Lynn took this one at Brian's last show at The Mint. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y97/Dreamspinner72/Brian%20Ray/Brian-The%20Mint/Briansinging.jpg
Thanks for posting, Ro! It looks like you had the best seats in the house.
LOL We pretty much did have the best seats! We were center front, maybe 15 feet from Brian! It was a great venue. Did I mention that the food there was fantastic too? And speaking of good seats.....did I tell you that Rusty sat at the table beside us? No, we didn't speak, but he was about 6 inches away!

Just finished watching Live 8!! WOW!! What an incredible day. I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be there performing. Fortunately, watched it live on AOL instead of the TV to avoid all the interruptions. What was your favorite part?? I think probably the Long And Winding Road. The cause certainly gave a new meaning to the song and the graphics were perfect.

LOVELY RO!!! I've been out of town for a couple of days so it's great to come home to a new photo. Ahhh....the memories.....

It was fantastic, wasn't it?? The whole day was amazing, but Paul's set was special, of course. I think that was the loveliest version of The Long & Winding Road I've ever heard. Brian's solo on Get Back was great, as usual. And he looked amazing, as always!!

MM is going to be awesome!!!! The music was great but the lyrics really make a song, don't they? One called "Vinyl" and the memories of a record collection. Another fun one...."I liked you better when I was drunk (or drinking??)" will be a great sing along song for those partaking in adult beverages.
Hi Oh! Darling! The lyrics actually are: "I liked you better when I was drinking, I liked you better when I was drunk" Those are the only lyrics (and melody!) that I remember from that night, other than Comin' Up Roses, of course. It was great to meet you! Come back again sometime! Sharon
SHARON!! It was great to meet you, too. I cannot believe it's already been over a week since the show. Thanks for the lyric clarification. And yes....I'd love to come back!! LA was lovely. Stay tuned!!

Yes, as always!!! Loved the guitar strap with the peace signs and doves. That was from last year's tour, right?? Didn't he hold his own during Hey Jude?? The bass was loud and clear during the billion of "na-na's".

He sure did! It must have been an incredible experience to be up on stage with all those famous musicians. He looked like he belonged up there!

He sure did.....(and he does!) I bet they'll be on a natural high for the next few days (or weeks). I wonder how you top playing Live 8?? Fall tour? Solo CD?

I don't know! Wow, since Brian has been with Paul he's played the Queen's Jubilee concert, inside the Coliseum in Rome and outside to half a million people, Red Square, the Superbowl and Live 8. What next... The Moon???

ooooooo don't give them any ideas??!!?? I don't think you can top performing at Live 8. The experience is embraced then put away in your heart to remember forever. Then you get on with what comes up next.

Brian DOES belong up there!!!!!! He looked and sounded fabulous!!!! They all did! Wonder if he met anyone he had always wanted to meet backstage?

The Long And Winding Road was perfect. I must confess I didn't see the graphics. I'll have a proper look. Musically speaking, my favourite part was Paul's set at the end. "My Band" just came across so well. They were brilliant. Brian's guitar solo in Get Back was superb and his bass was terrific. I thought Sgt. Pepper was good....Paul rocked. Madonna and Robbie came over very well, too. It was a very powerful show. I suppose the best part is the overwhelming success of it - it truly has raised awareness globally.

During Hey Jude, Brian was awesome. I'm so glad it came over on the tv. And I wasn't sure if it was that guitar strap. I thought it was but that confirms it. I like that strap. I can't remember which guitar it was during the tour...I think it was the acoustic for Band On The Run.

Well exactly....what a few years it's been!!! Don't forget Glastonbury to add to the list!!!

Caroline, I am so excited you had a great time and had the opportunity to experience the show live!! Let's hope the G8 was taking note. The band sounded great and looked like they were having so much fun! Don't you love how the crowd continued the na-na's after the band quit playing? Other great moments..........U2 performing "One" then into "Unchained Melody", REM (got to love Michael Stipe), Annie Lennox, Sting (loved Every Breath you take) and Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" (that one always gets to me). Plus it was great to see other bands that are not as popular here. Everyone gave 110%.

Oh yes....duly noted!! Thanks for the reminder.

I've been hard-pressed to come up with a favorite act [after "our guys," of course], but Pink Floyd has to be it! So great to see these guys together again after all these years! Let's just hope that the powers-that-be were paying attention to all those names scrolling across the stage! The people want to help end the poverty and disease in Africa. We can't do it without the world leaders backing it! Live 8 was for a great cause. Let's not get so caught up in the great acts we saw that we forget what it was all about!

My internet decided to die on me about an hour before Paul came on, so I was forced to watch VH1's crappy coverage. It was nice to see Stevie Wonder, but I wanted to see PAUL! It was so weird seeing Brian on stage...this guy, who I saw from 15 feet away a week and a half earlier (and who squeezed my arm after the show ops: ), was playing at LIVE 8! Can't wait to see him again. Oh - and I got a digital camera yesterday as a gift - so I'm prepared for Brian's next gig! Hope it does well in low light.

That's great news, Sharon! Maybe you'll get some really great shots this time! Practice a LOT before Brian's next show! It is strange to see Brian in front of all those people when you've seen him so close!
