Sunday, May 13, 2007 - 5:33 PM Bahamas Hello friends and countrymen and women, What kind of year is this shaping up to be? I'm here at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.. Here's the story..It was wild.. I had just finished the last day of recording Chris Cornell's new CD, "Carried Away" and I'm heading home when the phone rings... it's Russ Irwin, from Aerosmith.. and he says, "Hey, Steven [Tyler] wants you to call him!" So, I did and Steven invited me to come play with him at the grand opening weekend party for the new Towers at Atlantis!! So, here I am. It's such a blast! We rehearsed yesterday and we're ready to play tonight. Somebody pinch me. Last night was Stevie Wonder's birthday bash here and he played along with a gazillion other amazing artists.. the place is packed with people we all know and love.. We went inner-tubing yesterday.. today, lunch w/Steven and family then party till we drop tonight. Then I'm heading to London to get together with Paul McC to plan out our not-so-distant futures together. So... lots going on.. and I wanted to say hi to you all. Oh, Also.. I'm working on Gavn DeGraw's new CD too. Miss ya.. hope you all are well, Brian x Update... Last night was the Steven Tyler performance at the Atlantis Hotel.. We played on a revolving stage, in a giant ballroom.. when we were announced, the curtains [lined with pink boas]opened revealing a few thousand people dressed in 70's garb, going NUTS!.. We opened with "Walk This Way" then "Don't Want to Miss a Thing", "Sweet Emotion" and closed with "Thank You Fallettemne Be Mice Elf Again" [Sly Stone] which we jammed on for a long time with the audience joining in.... Steven was outrageous, doing his thing and singing his ass off, as usual.. MAN.. what a great guy. I wish I recorded it all.. maybe someone has it on YouTube by now!! Also, Rusty was here too, so we got to rock out together. The night closed with Stevie Wonder singing with Earth, Wind and Fire... WAY too much fun. We stayed and partied with the peeps and had a total blast here. Thanks to Steven and his crew, Russ Irwin, David Hull, Marti Frederickson, Rusty and the cool folks here at the resort for a great time! Sometimes you get lucky.. See you all soon, I hope Brian

How I would love to see those shows!

A DVD of the show in the Coliseum would be great. I'm glad that some of the songs recorded with the band are on the new album.

Me too , i'm really looking forward to hearing them all .

Chaos and Creation turned out great and I think challenging Paul to do so much was a good approach for Nigel Godrich to try. But I was a bit sad to hear that the band had already started recording an album with Paul when it took another direction and the songs were left off. I wondered when, or if, we'd hear the songs recorded with the band. So I'm glad some are included in MAF.
-
I wonder how much other material there is that Paul has recorded over time , that's still yet to be heard one day ?

I got the latest Q magazine and was flipping through it and there was an interview of some musician I never heard of but that wasn't what got my attention...it was a picture from Live 8 with Brian Ray! On the cover it has the 100 Greatest Youtube Moments of Music...if necessary I'll scan in the photo to show it off.
-
Yes , It is a nice photo of Brian , It's from the Live 8 book , that was a great show wasn't it !
