Ha !!! When Dan asked that waiter at breakfast in Vegas what was in the ham omelette....... i think he meant , what else was in the omelette, but of course by then i was practically hysterical with laughter !! That poor waiter must have thought we were all mad Ronna at our table !

April 30, 2007 -- Macca Report Exclusive Exclusive interview with Brian Ray about "Memory Almost Full" JORIE GRACEN (MACCA REPORT): There was a radio press release for "Memory Almost Full" that said: "'Memory Almost Full' is performed entirely by Paul McCartney (excluding strings)." Is this true? Is the band not on the album? BRIAN RAY: No... not true. Half of it ("Memory Almost Full") was recorded at Abbey Road Studio 2, before "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" was even started. Geoff Emerick [Beatles engineer] and David Kahne [producer] recorded us (Paul, Abe Laboriel Jr., Paul "Wix" Wickens, Rusty Anderson and me) in the same room the Beatles recorded almost every note of their career. This band played on over half of the album... Paul recorded the rest, solo style with David Kahne after we left. As is often the case, Paul will rethink parts on all instruments as the record evolves and replaces bits as he proceeds, with his own playing, as he always has. We all worked together quite a bit at the Mill and Abbey Rd., adding overdubs and backing vocals as well. We had a good 'ol time. He's so thoughtful... On day one of pre-production at his studio in the country, he came up to me and said, "Brian, I want you to play bass on the tracking sessions [as he sings and plays guitar or piano on the basic tracks] but I'm sorry to say, I will probably end up overdubbing my own bass on the songs.... I feel bad, because you play great!" I said to him, "Paul... if I went out to buy the new Paul McCartney CD and someone else was playing bass, I'd be angry! I completely understand." When I watched him record on those tracks, I was blown away. There is one song in particular where he plays some of the best bass of his life... so loose, so musical... you'll see! The band played and sang on the following songs: Only Mama Knows You Tell Me Vintage Clothes That Was Me Feet in the Clouds House of Wax The End of the End I think this CD shows Paul at his very best... Every side of him is expressed... he ROCKS, he sings like a man possessed, then he gets intimate and comes up with some of the best ballads I've ever heard... Great playing, production and singing. Paul really shines and David Kahne makes musical magic, right by his side. I for one, am just honored to be a part of his life and career and I don't care who's on the record or not, as long as he's happy with it. It sounds like a bit of an issue about having one's part being replaced at a later date by Paul!

Somehow I don't think he is as happy about Paul replacing instruments as he lets on.
