yeah ....i like my 60,s ( Beatles, small faces, who ) but personally i think the current music scene is possibly one of the best ever ( no NOT westlife !) Apart from my regular concerts, there are a few groups i like that i want to see for the first time. B & S ,( as i told you before), The Ravonettes, and the Gossip ( another cracking singer.) I know you like the go ! team......I saw them for the first time last year, and would like to go ! again. What about you ?

I`ve seen the raveonettes 3 years ago... fantastic (and very loud!!!) live-band... I also interviewed them (I`m writing for an austrian music-mag)... yeah I love the go! team, ever since I was at one of their shows last year, they were a big inspiration for some of the music I`ve been doing with my songwriting-partner. I like bands that try to come up with something original/inventive (like the beatles in the 60s)... and I think you`re right. This is an exciting time for new music... lots of original music by contemporary bands out there to be discovered!
-
I have just been playing the Ravonettes.....i had a feeling you may have seen them. Good luck with the music.....i wish i could play something . I got a acoustic guitar years ago, but i havnt got anywhere. I will have to give it another go sometimes. Getting back to the thread , nearly every time i see a group these days, i want to see the support. Eg....Morrissey was supported by the dead 60,s , who where supported by the rifles, who where supported by ???tsreet runners. The ordinary boys ( whose new album is awful ) were supported by Little man tate and the on-offs. The long Blondes were supported by the sugars ( they sound like a cross between the white stripes and the ravonettes)

I have finally heard the Pipettes, very good song I think. The best song you played was The Strokes song, what is it called? WTF! Echo and the Bunnymen are a band I haven't listened to much, I don't have any of their albums. I really liked the song you played.
The Strokes song was "Heart In A Cage"... it`s from their new album. Very cool lyrics IMO! The Echo And The Bunnymen song was called "Rust". It`s from their 1999 album "What Are You Going To Do With Your Life". I really like that song! I also wanted to play something from "Ram", but we talked so much at the beginning of the show, that there was not enough time left at the end to play everything I had prepared...
RUST.....superb song Have you ever heard another Liverpool band- SHACK ? If not have a look for HMS Fable.....classic songwriting.

Yesterday we started writing a christmas-song (and we also started rehearsing it with our new band later that day)... it`s funny; it has no lyrics yet, but the music sounds like a mixture of "Heroin" by Velvet Underground" and "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul, played in the style of Belle & Sebastian. It has a definite christmas-feel (but it`s also very romantic IMO), that`s why I came up with the idea of making it our official christmas-song.
Cool! Can't wait to hear it!
if we get to finish and record it that fast; I`ll post it on christmas day in the supernova as a christmas-gift from me to you
I hope you have time to finish the song, so we can hear it for Christmas!!! I'm sure it's gonna be great!

I am fine. I love Berlin! I was there in 1998, but then there was so much construction work. Couldn't even see the Reichstag. I have to go back there! I would love to see what Potzdamer Platz looks like now.

(love your avatar ) Oh man it is such a beautiful city. Have you been to Tiergarten? I couldn't believe my eyes. Here in Greece we don't have those kinds of parks (in Athens we don't have parks at all, actually)... and because of the mediterranean climate we don't have colourful autumns... That's where I want to be.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Stephan!

Thank you, Olia! Efcharistò! Hey Moggy; you like the zutons too? I think they`re great... I saw them live in Vienna two years ago (and interviewed their bass-player on that occassion; BTW.: very nice guy!)... "You Will You Won`t" and "Railroad" are my faves.
-
Thats wierd....railroad is on as i read your post ! I went watching them last night for the first time, and hopefully not the last. In Dave Mccabe they have one of the best new voices in music , and a great frontman. They all seem decent people, but Abi apart from being beautiful enjoys it so much. She is so enthusiastic it looks like they have just got her out of the crowd. She never stopped smileing all night. The support were the on-offs who are also superb. They have good songs and a excellent singer and backing vocalist. I saw them support the ordinary boys and the singer was really up for it ( you couldn,t shut him up! ) But last night he never spoke and looked really subdued. I don,t know if he was ill or if this was the normal on-offs.....excellent anyway.

this could be due to the amount of grass this band is smoking before going onstage (when I interviewed their bass-player just 2 hours before their vienna-show, he was smoking the biggest joint I`ve ever seen )...
