How's showbiz?
difficult. My label-band Living Lâche now finished the work on their album, which should have been out this march... but now they had a big argument with their producer (whos one of the biggest indie-pop-stars in austria; which means he`s got a big ego as well, just like the band)... now he refuses to put out the album... we either have to cancel the whole project (which would be a sham) or wait until we solved everything. f**king business-s**t... it`s about royalites and copyrights and how they should be shared between the band and the producer... It`s a bit hard for me since I`m a good friend of the mastermind of the band AND that producer. They are both very good mates of mine. All I can do is hope that they sort it out and that we can release the album some day... cos it`s a f**king brilliant album!
heh Thats why I will make my stuff at home. It's not going to sound great, I guess
-
no michelle! it will sound great BECAUSE you record it at home... some of maccas best albums IMO are home-made! As long as you can catch the feeling of recording home lo-fi it`s going to be brilliant... I mena bands should record properly, but singer/songwriters always made some of their best music like you wanna do it!

Yes I will record some stuff in Orlando, my friend has a home studio and he wants to help me. I think Yeah Yeah Yeahs first EP was kind of home made. People...

Well, you can sound good recording at home, but you need a lot of experience. At least to deal with the software and some tricks you need to learn. I remember at first I didn't equalize vocals because I thought that was altering them or so... and they are not similar to the real ones if I don't equalize them. : Also you need to play all the instruments. Or take home the players. And that's especially difficult with... Drums!. How the heck put drums in a room made song?... I use keyboards beats, but that's only easy for not complicate stuff... And the thing I still don't understand much is guitar distortion... when I play I do it with distortion to the max. But no matter how I equalize, if I record that, there's a disturbing sound kind of "ssssss......" recorded. So I have to put half distortion or so, and it's not the same. Maybe the most funny thing is that is you kind of master it you could be a future producer. You'll never know... P.S. I still don't like a thing about the "business", sometimes I would like to forget and just play my music to myself. I really don't even like much when people likes my music... I couldn't call myself sincere if I didn't say this. It really doesn't matter much to me in the end but I feel I've got to after it... But I don't enjoy it. But, as I enjoy playing or composing music I know I'll never quit music itself cause I can't.

And it is brilliant; better than their albums IMO! I think all of our label-bands are recording either at home or in their rehearsal room; none of us ever saw a real studio I think we`ve got a solution for the problem with the album... but after all this turmoil we can`t make it in march; we`ll postpone it; it will be out in autmn 2008; which is funny cos we startet recording in autumn 2007; so it`s a bit like with "Let It Be"... released one year after most of the recordings were done.
-
Oliver, my music is kind of folk'n' bossa, ahha, with some psychedelism and experimentalism. I am not a rock girl, so I dont need the rock and roll formula, you know. I need to buy a sound card btw. But I will probably record at my friend's house, and he is in a very good band, I will abuse of his drumers for free. He is a good pianist. http://www.myspace.com/whiteyevans And I like the name of his other project The Future on Films in Space .

Yes, I know. I haven't heard anything yours that's "rock music". My sound card is more expensive than the rest of the PC. (:lol And it has driven me crazy a lot. So many options and configurations.... it's a techno-mess. It isn't fair that a musician needs to know how to handle so many things... yes, we can do it on our own, but instead of being singer/songwriter you can become singer/songwriter/keyboard player/guitar player/arranger/producer/promoter/sound engineer/music software expert... and there's no time for everything... (yes, and accountant!) When was the last song I wrote?

Scarlett Johansson has a steamy lesbian sex scene with Penelope Cruz in Woody Allen's upcoming "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." A source tells us: "It is also extremely erotic. People will be blown away and even shocked. Penelope and Scarlett go at it in a red-tinted photography dark room, and it will leave the audience gasping." The women later have a threesome with Javier Bardem (below), who plays Cruz's husband.
I can't believe this! Two of sexiest women in the world doing a lesbian scene... It can't get much better than that.
-
wow, I`m not a big fan of penelope cruz... but scarlett, yeeeeeeah! I`m really looking forward to it!
-
I know you're not a big fan of hers...You're crazy! Release date in Spain is September 2008, but I guess we have to wait longer... perhaps we can't see it until next year? I don't think I can't wait that long.

I am a big fan of brad pitt.

That's cool. I listened to some songs on their Myspace page. I really liked them, especially "that's why i never stop". "gaelic romantic fuck-off folk ;-)" I like it! Good luck!

I forgot about that page, many good songs there. I just love the voice of the singer (Captain Anger!). I'm sure the album will be a big success.

yeah; and the best thing: I`m singing background vocals on one track of the album; my lyrics were "whisky, whisky, whisky and beer - whisky, wisky, whisky and beer!!!" hahaha I`m completely out of tune but it was fun! it will be a strange album; will be very untipical and unexpected for many fans of the group; lots of experimentation... but now we`ll have to wait till autumn...
-
Whisky and beer! Way cool. Autumn can't come soon enough.

I like it, cause putting lesbian sex in a kind of non-erotic movie is making it "normal" for the media, just as it was putting gay sex... or well, as it as putting simply sex. I'm not a... big "fan" of Penelope Cruz either... she's just popular, the "sexiest women" in the world thingie it's kind an offense... they're just popular and that's why they're called sexy, especially Penelope.
