I didn't like Athens much, too hot for me. I've been to (not sure of the spelling on all of theese) Paros, Antiparos, Skiathos, Sifnos, Naxos, Chios, Santorini, Kos....I know there are more, but I can't remember the names right now. I really liked Antiparos, so small and beautiful beaches. Where in Greece are you originally from then?
-
Born and raised in Athens =( I have to live here because I go to university. I am hoping to leave as soon as I finish my studies. From all the islands you listed I have only been to Naxos, how embarrassing If I could find a job in an island I would move there at a heartbeat. For now, I'm hoping I can live abroad again at some point.
-
I`ve been to Thassos, Samos, Paros, Antiparos, Santorin/Thira, Lipsi (very small but the best, IMO ), Rhodos, Karpathos, Leros, Ikaria, Telendos, Kalymnos, Arki, Agathonisi, Patmos, Mykonos, Delos, Fourni, Kos, Kassos. I`m sutre there are more I can`t remember aynmore. BTW. the festival was great; well, let me think... no... it was shit like all festivals; BUT and that`s a very big big big BUT ... Belle And Sebastian was the very best concert I`ve ever seen in my entire life (and that`s many many concerts). It was magic; I can`t describe it with words; I had tears running down my face... after watching silly little rock'n'rollbands that don`t give me anything anymore it was the best way to close the festival foor me; it reassured me why I love music so much! So let`s say the whole damn thing was worth it for B&S alone! Hey Michelle they said we were the coolest audience they had since they were in Brazil (!); they said we`re the best whistlers since Brazil, and that we`re a very special crowd, cos very so musical and sophisitcated... well sophisiticated is a good word to describe austrians
-
oh please, everyone says that to every crowd, everywhere, every time I'm really happy you liked the B&S concert so much... I've lost my interest for gigs and I know I would want to attend one that would speak to me like that; with the tears and everything (when the fuck is macca playing again).
-
kaleidoscope:

I don`t think everyone says "you`re the best crowd since brasil..." I agree with you overall though; I know what you mean, but usually bands say "You`re the best audence!"; something genreal they`d say anywhere; but I just thought it`s funny that of all countries they mentioned brasil (cos of Michelle who`s also a bit of a b&s-fan herself) that made it special to me. I instantly had to think of Michelle...

Here are the lyrics of the week BTW I`ve no doubt that Belle & Sebastian are the best band in the world right now; what they do is untouchable... they have the best lyrics, the best melodies, the best arrangments, the best live-performances... and Stuart Murdoch is such a charismatic performer; I`d never imagined him to be like that on stage... I`m A Cuckoo I?m glad to see you I had a funny dream You were wearing funny shoes You were going to a dance You were dressed like a punk but you were too young to remember Glad to see you I?m outside the house I?m not thinking right today I?ve got no energy I?m glad that you were waiting with me Tell me all about your day Breaking off is misery I see a wilderness for you and me Punctuated by philosophy And wondering how things could?ve been I?m happy for you You?ve made it hard for me I counted on your company You were staying with your friends tonight I?m feeling sorry for myself I keep taking everything to be to be a sign I?m happy for you Now I know this hurt is poison Too sharp to be bled I?m sitting on my empty bed On my empty bed At night the fever grows it?s pounding pounding I?d rather be in Tokyo I'd rather listen to Thin Lizzy-oh Watch the Sunday gang in Harajuku There?s something wrong with me, I?m a cuckoo Scary moment, lovin? every moment I was high from playing shows We lost a singer to her clothes My trouble raised its ugly head I was revealed And I was home in bed I was a kid again Jesus told me, go after every coin like it was the last in the world And protect the wayward child But I?m a little lost sheep I need my Bo peep I know I need my Shepherd here tonight Breaking off is misery I see a wildness for you and me Punctuated by philosophy And a wondering how things could?ve been Id like to see you But really I should stay away And let you settle down I?ve got no claims to your crown I was the boss of you And I loved you You know I loved you It?s all over now I was there for you When you were lonely I was there when you were sad I was there when you were bad Now it?s my time of need Im thinking, do I have to plead to get you by my side? I?d rather be in Tokyo Id rather listen to Thin Lizzy-oh Watch the Sunday gang in Harajuku There?s something wrong with me, I?m a cuckoo

Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed the festival! B&S are so good! I don't know if they're the best band in the world, though. I hope I get to see them live one day! I like the lyrics in that song.

Hey Svenn; I saw Knutsen & Ludvigsen and DumDum Boys yesterday! GREAT concert!

If you came here you'd be very disappointed, I'm afraid. The language is beautiful, I agree with that, but we have little in common with our ancient ancestors, all those wonderful people. And our football is CRAP. You can come over and see for yourself
I wouldnt be disapointed about Greece, or Italy, Austria, Portugal. I feel the same way about Brazil. People come here to see beach? That´s silly. And I know you guys have a little in common with the ancient Greeks, and that makes Greece more special. I like to go to a place and find something else, not just what I was expecting, my english is crapier today. I love Greece. I think Greek people sometimes have something in common with Italians. They dont speak, they scream. LOL. I know some Greeks in São Paulo, and they are spontaneous. I really like that. Of course, there are good and bad, and fake, and and true people anywhere.

I see. You are very sophisticated, Stefff. While Germans arent that sophisticated. LOL. It seems they had a good time here. LOL. I saw them here, and I loved it!!! We love B&S, and it´s good they still think of us as a cool audiencel. I have a thousand reasons to love B&S music. Here´s a GOOD one.

Yeah Jonathan David... their live-version of that song was sooo fucking mega; they had a girl from the audience dancing with them during that song, and they (Stuart and Stevie) kinda reacted the story of that song live on stage. In the end Stuart won and the girl ran backstage with him; when they came back on stage; Stuart discovered that she had her boyfriend in the audience so he said that she just kissed him on the cheek I don`t know how it`s been in brasil but there was very much interaction between the band and the audience at that gig... once stuart went right into the audience and requested from a girl to put some make-up on his face; while she did, he sang a song (forgot which one) with the band playing onstage. The funny thing was that many people from the audience sang along with him; and they sang louder into his microphne than him, so it was like a choir from people who stood next to him in the audience... another great moment was when stuart (whoaa he`s my new hero; the best entertainer I`ve seen since adam green) saw a frisbee in the audience... he asked the person with the frisbee to throw it in his direction, and the way he caught the frisbee was so fucking cool! Such a big show with so many great memories... and I`m not alone with that assessment. Today I read through varuious message boards for inde/alternative-music people in austria... and everyone who was there seems to feel the same way about that gig. It was something very special; an atmosphere that can`t be repeated!

that is so true. I think the Mediterranean air has caused them (us) some kind of hearing deficiency over the years and they have to shout to each other! Greeks, Italians, Spanish... I think we are all very similar. I'm happy we don't sound too much like the italians, though; I wouldn't want to sound like I'm reciting poetry whenever I'm saying anything. On topic (...), I ordered the Pipettes album a few days ago, it should arrive in the post one of these days. Yippee. Another band I found on myspace, Monkeeman, are fantastic and awesome; but they are german and they are partners with two american labels, meaning that if you want to get their albums you have to order them from america and pay an extra $6 for each cd for postage. What's the point in that? I might as well fly to Germany and get them Stefan, did they play 'Dress Up In You'? God I adore this song.

I love that song too; especially the opening line... but no; here`s the setlist. The State I Am In Funny Little Frog Like Dylan In The Movies Sukie in the Graveyard. To Be Myself Completely Electronic Renaissance The Loneliness Of A Middle-Distance Runner We are the Sleepyheads Lord Anthony If You're Feeling Sinister Simple Things The Blues Are Still Blue Dog on wheels I'm A Cuckoo Jonathan David White Collar Boy Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying encore The Boy With The Arab Strap Sleep The Clock Around the great thing afterwards was all us people saying "that was perfection, but funnily enough the could have played a completely different setlist (for example no "Legal Man" and no "Step Into My Office, Baby"; two of their biggest songs), and it could have been just as brilliant!" They have so many great tunes!

The Frequency Festival was fantastic!!!! Franz Ferdinand were great!!!! They sang also Michael....I LOVE IT!!!!! I will post some pictures in a few days!
