All very true. There's no way for those of us who live a 'regular life' to devote that kind of time to exercise, etc. I try very hard to walk pretty much every day, and get to the gym a few times a week, but some times I just don't get it done. And if I did, other important things in my life would have to slide, and I can't do that, so............ : Also agree with the notion that slower is better when it comes to weight loss. Studies show that not only is it healthier, but the slower weight comes off, the more likely it is to stay off, and that's really what matters. As for moderation, Eve, I SO hear you. Deprivation of one's favorite things just makes it impossible for many people (myself included) to stay on a 'diet'.....if I do that, I always go back to the 'bad stuff'. : And another thing........that bit about just looking at chocolate? I hear ya once again. And it's even harder for people like you and me who are, shall we say, "height challenged". Honestly, that's probably the one thing I can think of about being short that I really don't like. But we persevere, eh? It's not like we have a choice....
The problem with the moderation bit is that I have a hard time STOPPING to eat something when the bag, package, etc. is already opened. I can't just eat one cookie and put the rest back. Once the package it's opened, these cookies just stare at me and keep staring until I give in. I'm sure you know the problem. Over the course of years I've learned several "tricks" to keep the gaining reasonably under control, especially in the case of overeating. It hasn't always been easy. AND...I also try to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, but as you say, I don't always get there. However, I LOVE my spin cycle classes! Since I've discovered that I really do my best to go every Wednesday evening, 'cause that's also when my favourite teacher is giving her classes. Had to laugh at your "height challenged." But we persevere indeed.
I think no-one can east just one cookie. Or one chip, or one little thing he/she likes a lot. Tibet monks, if ever. What I do is not eating the first one, cause I know I would continue.

I love this video of The Boxer from the Central Park concert.
First, Art messes up the second line when he's too fast and they're both kind of grinning about it. Then, somewhere in the middle at the line "after changes we are more or less the same" Simon glances over at Garfunkel as if to say "that's us, you know"....and then Garfunkel looks over at Simon smiling and kind of pats him on the back! Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! Okay, never mind my post...I'll go back to obsessing on my own.hey I love that concert and I love that song, in my "famous" top 100 ever. why is Art singing with arms crossed at first? maybe he doesn't like the song or whatever... the "I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains" kills every time, so great.

The thing in the Scarlett's dress reminds of this: Dolly Parton does stand-up "(when I talk with a man)....if he's looking anywhere else except my chest he's looking for another man" ... better hear it from her:
I've never been a fan of her music, but I've always liked Dolly, the person. She's always seemed very genuine and sincere and pretty unaffected by all of the hype that surrounds celebrities. I mean, she seems like the kind of person that would be happy and comfortable just sitting around your living room, having a chat with you. And as we saw in that clip, she's got a great sense of humor, too.
She is a stand up comedian. I wanted to be the first woman to burn her bra, but it would have taken the fire department four days to put it out. I'm not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I'm not dumb... and I also know that I'm not blonde.

There's a radio programma I listen to every week; American Connection.kro.nl Each week they play a song and it is to the listeners to find the original; the group ore singer who recorded the song for the first time. Last week I found the right answer and won a CD of a Dutch band called The Folksurvicalclub. I love their music and think that you will love it too. http://www.folksurvival.nl/
I really like them!! But they aren't on iTunes, or CDBaby and I don't see any links to buy I find The Watchman aka Adrian van Meurs MySpace and he has 1 cd on CDBaby. He's great!
Last Saturday we were in a CD shop in Zwolle, the owner of the shop pulled out a box filled with CD's. It was American import. Maarten took random some CD's out of the box. One of then is a CD of the Tatters. It's lovely music and we had to think of the voice of Christy. http://www.thetatters.com/ http://www.sevensouth.com/recordshop/Tatters/01.php
Andrews Sisters meet country...sorta. Very nice harmonies.
If you really want the album I can upload it for you and send it by pm.

There are only a few pictures on that site....of the park...but it looks beautiful. Autumn here really no different than spring and summer here. We have very, very little "seasonal change" that's visible....like leaves changing color, etc. And the little bit of change that we DO see, comes in................January. : I too, have a "list" of things around here that need doing this weekend....the usual laundry, etc., but I'm getting behind in yard work projects and other things as well. We've had a lot of rain lately, so I've been able to put it off for awhile, but the weather's nice here this weekend, so.......... : Your nephew took vows to become a doctor? I'm not familiar with that concept. How does that work? Here, when one wants to become a doctor, they 'study medicine' in college. There is the "hypocratic oath" that doctors take upon completion of their studies though.......is that similar to what you're describing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath
Our nephew studied medicine. Before he gets his diplom he had to vow that he will act like the rules in the oath of Hippocrates. These rules were read first and all the students made their oath (vow).

Ringo made a message to all his fans that after October 20th he doesnt sign any item. He doesn't open fan mail, he will throw everything away. Click on the link; beneath the picture of Ringo are two links in which you can open his video message. http://www.limburger.nl/article/20081015/SCALA/656349329/1056#
So, he was serious? And this is permanent? Svenn posted about this the other day, and I assumed there was some context for it....that is, that he wasn't going to sign anything after the 20th, for some undetermined period of time. I didn't 'get' that it was permanent. What a shame.
Sorry Svenn, I didn't see your post. There were to many pages to read in a short while. ops: Ringo was very serious; not like Ringo used to be. No smiles only three times 'peace and love', like always.

The past week I didn't had to work . We didn't go on holiday, but made some nice trips. One on the motorcycle and last Monday we went for a cycling trip of 87.5 km through a National Park here in Holland. Nature is very beautiful at this moment, I love Autumn. http://www.hogeveluwe.nl/page.asp?id=3 On Wednesday we went to a chapel in Maastricht were a nephew of ours did his vow to become a doctor. He is now stuying for Cardiology. Today I did clean my house, my windows and other dreadfull things.
Beautiful park! I'm guessing this... means 'horse trail'? Wild zwijn? Those critters can be very mean I think. I'm guessing these bikes are for use in the park... ...so many!! Awesome national park!! The old hunting lodge is pretty cool too.
I must not have clicked the right things on that site, cuz I never saw those pics there.....there must be others I didn't see, too. I'll check it again. Glad I saw your post.
The hunting lodge is from a famous architect; Berlage.

YAY!! My ballot arrived in the mail today!! I'm pretty sure my state's paltry number of electoral votes will be "blue" as usual, but I always throw in my two cent's worth. Are you getting a gazillion phone calls about the election, too? I'm no longer answering the phone here until the election's over, if my caller ID gives me ANY reason to think it's a pollster, or even worse, a representative for ANY candidate.
Not so many, but I never answer my phone, just let the machine pick up and screen. Plus Oregon is pretty much blue as can be and not many electoral votes at stake so we're off the grid of the national campaigns...thank heavens. Though it would be kinda cool to "matter"...but not in a "hanging chad" sorta way.
franni:
lit'l willow:
That's so cool.........and I bet you're a healthier population in general than we are because of it, too.
But we bike in every kind of weather too rain, snow, sun so there goes that healthier part
I would think biking would be popular in Florida, at least in the "cooler" months since it's so flat. I know there are way more bicycle riders on the east side of Portland than on the hilly west. I read that Portland was the US leader in number of bicycle commuters...pretty cool. Would be cooler if I was part of that statistic...but I'm lazy, and too many hills. : (My bike is one of those scary things in the basement )

I'm afraid Art Garfunkel's concert left a pretty big impression on me.... Okay, never mind my post...I'll go back to obsessing on my own.
I know what you mean. I'll get headed down memory lane with some artist or group I used to listen to years ago and the next thing you know I'm on iTunes racking up my credit card. : Simon and Garfunkel are timeless. If ever two voices were meant to be together theirs certainly were. The Everly's are close, but I think I like S&G better. I've found some very early recordings of mostly Paul Simon and some older concerts of both of them.

Ever wondered what kind of message Denise Milani receives? Another pin-up, Dana Hamm has just made a blog about her messages received (not telling names). Copying and pasting: A collection of jaw-dropping fanmail I?ve gotten on MySpace I have to admit my fans know how to make me smile...and sometimes laugh. In fact, most of the time they make me forget I'm human. I've decided to start collecting certain emails and comments that stand out as extra special. Some of them are kind and generous, some are a little bizarre, and others are just plain outrageous. A few people might interpret this as being incredibly egotistical (like glancing into a mirror all day), but it's not. I love my fans. I appreciate the care and thought that goes into these emails. I will add to this blog weekly, but I'm not going to list names. Stay tuned. I hope this blog will be both entertaining and awe-inspiring. I know they are for me! Love, Dana ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your eyes are beyond description. A very pale green with a darker outer green edging. Have a wonderful weekend Dana, wishing you nothing less then the very best ! ~smooches~ I just wanted to make a polite introduction and inquire as to if you have ever considered doing DOminitrix work. I am VERY interested in pursuing a connection with you as my Dominatrix. I am not looking for sex and realize fully that sex is not what domination is about. I have been a fan of yours for quite some time but wanted to be sure of myself and what I wanted before sending this message. Your energy is amazing and a girl like you needs a slave or submssive boy-lackey to help ease the burdens and frustrations of day to day life. I am very interested in being your personal bitch. I would especially like to take care of your feet (shoes, boots, pedicures, massage, etc) but realize that ultimately what you want is and always will be above all. I am also a vey public figure and would hope that our connection could be very discreet.... is there a way that this would at all be possible? ur pic are very sexy but very classy to i think that is very attractive i give u the utmost respect for being flashy but not trashy like dem other girls ur a super woman and i hope that life treats u well have a great day xoxo YOU ARE REMARKABLE---YOU ARE AN ANGELINA DOUBLE FOR SURE!!! BESIDES ALL THE REMARKS ON YOUR LOOKS I JUST WANNA SAY MAY YOUR WEEK BE FILLED WITH SPECIAL MOMENTS THAT MAKE YOU SMILE AND GIGGLE!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~TAKE CARE ur pics are very sexy but very classy too, i think that is very attractive i give u the utmost respect for being flashy but not trashy like dem other girls ur a super woman and i hope that life treats u well have a great day xoxo Gooooood morning Dana!!!! I am sitting here sipping the first morning cup of java.......clicked my friend request from overnight...and saw yurs!!!! had to say WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR AMAZING and totally impressive for sure....... i truly hope one day we shoot on an assignment together...... or even just a chance to test together for ourselves..... regardless i would love it..... so for now, keep in touch when time allows....... Would you be interested in shooting a cover with me for one of the top fitness magazines both nationally and internationally? The photographer would be one of the best in the business being either Cory Sorensen, Alex Ardenti, or David Paul. We'd shoot it here in southern Ca. and the time frame is quite flexible. Thankyou for your time, I'm a big fan, and I hope to hear back from you. Best, Hey Dana, I believe that I am sexy and cute etc. (So this is not a self put-down), but, you have to be one of the most highest physically beautiful manifestations the universe has offered to this world. Your position is well earned. And thats that. I know you get plenty of mail and try your best to answer all of it, so I'll try to keep this short. I don't get on Myspace much anymore (like the networking and more mature crowd of Facebook...I know, sounds kinda snooty). But, I finally had to drop some cred on your profile, Ms Hamm. I've been a follower of yours for years and have always applauded the graceful and stylistic manner with which you present yourself and how you treat your fans (only one other woman has prompted me to write such a thing, Denise Milani...you can see by my page, she and I have been friends for a few years now...so, indeed, you're a VIP in my book). It's so easy for a man to say he's attracted to a woman like you for your looks, but, like I said--er, wrote--your grace and style show you're someone I'd be attracted to if I were a blind man. If you doubt my sincerity, just ask around--my friends will tell you. Yeah, not exactly humble, but true, nonetheless. Thanks for your time. Hugs and smiles from a beautiful Autumn day in Maryland ps--Oh, if you also have a Facebook, feel free to look me up sometime. I've already written two books and write articles on suite101. com ...hmmmm, sounds like I'm pimping myself out doesn't it...dammit...hate it when I do that...hahaha...take care Good morning, Beautiful, Can't believe I forgot to tell you until now that what set you apart from all other women one can see on "Al Gore's Internet"--hahaha--was/is your eyes. Stunning eyes stay with me, and, at least until I began corresponding with you and learning you are as amazing as your looks (actually, perhaps more than anything else about you, it is your realness that has kept me interested), it was your eyes that made me a fan at first. I guess it's the romantic in me: you know the old adage about looks fading...well, eyes rarely do--I like thinking the same beautiful eyes staring back at me will be the same ones staring back at me 40 years hence, whomever I someday marry, that is. Hoping you slept well. Hugs, kisses, and smiles from here

YAY!! My ballot arrived in the mail today!! I'm pretty sure my state's paltry number of electoral votes will be "blue" as usual, but I always throw in my two cent's worth. I figure the rule should be if you don't vote you can't bitch...and heaven knows I like my bitchin
people who wants other to vote say that I don't vote and I bitch a lot. I actually think that if "you vote you can not bitch", cause you're agreeing with "The game", but I don't want you to believe it, it's just my way of seeing it.
I'm agree with Tina on that if you don't vote you can't bitch why do you think your opinium is inportant : if you don't have an opinium when it is inportant :
