Tina your sigline says: A clean house is a sign of a broken computer my house is so clean that it scares me every part of every room is dust free windows are washed, floors are mopped, furniture are clear from everything we didn't use the last year
You're scaring me, too. And you're reminding me of all the things around here that NEED doing.
I cleaned a room that I didn't for the last 6 years and you don't wanna know what was living there in the corners ops:
Well, whatever it was, I assume it's not living anymore.
No it is now in 'weird animal heaven'
"Weird animal heaven". I like that.
it's great maybe there is "weird people heaven" too... I hope so... or a "weird department"
If there IS a "weird people heaven", it's probably already full!!

All very true. There's no way for those of us who live a 'regular life' to devote that kind of time to exercise, etc. I try very hard to walk pretty much every day, and get to the gym a few times a week, but some times I just don't get it done. And if I did, other important things in my life would have to slide, and I can't do that, so............ : Also agree with the notion that slower is better when it comes to weight loss. Studies show that not only is it healthier, but the slower weight comes off, the more likely it is to stay off, and that's really what matters. As for moderation, Eve, I SO hear you. Deprivation of one's favorite things just makes it impossible for many people (myself included) to stay on a 'diet'.....if I do that, I always go back to the 'bad stuff'. : And another thing........that bit about just looking at chocolate? I hear ya once again. And it's even harder for people like you and me who are, shall we say, "height challenged". Honestly, that's probably the one thing I can think of about being short that I really don't like. But we persevere, eh? It's not like we have a choice....
The problem with the moderation bit is that I have a hard time STOPPING to eat something when the bag, package, etc. is already opened. I can't just eat one cookie and put the rest back. Once the package it's opened, these cookies just stare at me and keep staring until I give in. I'm sure you know the problem. Over the course of years I've learned several "tricks" to keep the gaining reasonably under control, especially in the case of overeating. It hasn't always been easy. AND...I also try to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, but as you say, I don't always get there. However, I LOVE my spin cycle classes! Since I've discovered that I really do my best to go every Wednesday evening, 'cause that's also when my favourite teacher is giving her classes. Had to laugh at your "height challenged." But we persevere indeed.

Hmmmm, not bad, not bad. It's definitely an advantage on one hand to have pre-packaged cookies with like only one or two cookies inside so you don't eat the whole box. On the other hand...more plastic is bad for the environment.

I'm afraid Art Garfunkel's concert left a pretty big impression on me. There have been a few times over the past few years that something simple like a song on the radio or a movie on tv suddenly makes me listen to artists I know the basic oeuvre of, but not the whole thing, and then suddenly I find myself wanting to listen to pretty much everything they've done and I can't stop listening for days and days. (I'm not obsessed, really :lol In the past I've had such heavy listening periods with Queen, Elvis Presley and even Michael Jackson (don't ask! . Anyway, now that concert last Tuesday had the same effect, and yesterday I went out to buy two Simon & Garfunkel cd's and the dvd of their legendary NYC Central Park concert of 1981. And I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy their other three cd's as well. I love this video of The Boxer from the Central Park concert.
First, Art messes up the second line when he's too fast and they're both kind of grinning about it. Then, somewhere in the middle at the line "after changes we are more or less the same" Simon glances over at Garfunkel as if to say "that's us, you know"....and then Garfunkel looks over at Simon smiling and kind of pats him on the back! Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! Okay, never mind my post...I'll go back to obsessing on my own. -

This is funny: http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utenriks/presidentvalg-2008/artikkel.php?artid=538582 "... If we keep talking about the ecenomy, McCain is going to lose. So today I'm going to talk about the economy."
I love that they both showed themselves to be good sports at that event. Obviously it was all scripted, but still...it was a fun thing to see. Here's more: http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5joltIgqjbY1UltfRPs355KSMO4BQ
I agree, it was nice to they were good sports, you can say a lot about Americans but they sure as hell have great sense of humour.. I like what McCain said to Obama: McCain, 72, wrapped up his 15 minutes of wise-cracking with a moving tip of the hat to Obama, 47, for being the first black politician with a real stab at the White House. "Senator Obama talks about making history, and he's made quite a bit of it already," said the Arizona senator. "There was a time when the mere invitation of an African-American citizen to dine at the White House was taken as an outrage and an insult in many quarters." "Today, it's a world away from the crude and prideful bigotry of that time, and good riddance. I can't wish my opponent luck -- but I do wish him well."

Oliver? Angela? Svenn? And now Tina, too? Okay y'all, what's shakin' in all those various corners of the world today?!?
we got to be fast to catch this beat...
umm... well possible singles meeting again this evening/night/late at night?
Ah! Very cool! Let us know how it goes.
taking a look at my financial things...
And? How's it looking? Are things panning out the way you'd hoped? Yes they do
I should finish the lyrics before singing
Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable plan. hey, not always is like that sometimes some lyrics are improvised, but usually the lyrics are finished JUST before the recording not when the music was made
nd I'm supposed to be "unemployed"... it's surprising to see how many things one can do while not having a job...
Isn't that the truth? We all somehow manage to fill up 24 hours each and every day with something....some of which is more "productive" than others!
well, working for a company is the hardest way to get money there are so many people doing strange things that make a living for them... and they make much more than workers and they enjoy more... I mean legal things.
