^ What part of Thailand do you recommend?
Unfortunately, I've only been to Bangkok and Laem Chabang. Next time, I need to go up to Chiang Mai or down to one of the southern islands. I recommend Bangkok wholeheartedly, though. If you want friendly people, a lot of history and great food, they have it.
Thanks! Going to put that on my short list! http://www.turismoitalianews.it/images/stories/thailandia/ChaophrayaRiver-BangkokCity795.JPG

Whales are such beautiful creatures... Have gone out in a boat during the whale migration. https://d18gmz9e98r8v5.cloudfront.net/ptr/20121211032249_570278419_1162_9.jpg http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1408209/thumbs/o-MAUI-WHALE-570.jpg?2

^ Who On Earth Is That Beautiful Young Woman? Gorgeous Pic L2T!
All women in Bali are beautiful, are they not? This is an advertisement photo for a travel magazine...and it's such a beautiful place, or so I've been told! Funny side story... For years I always thought the words to Sting's song, Fields of Gold was "upon the fields of Bali" Was imagining something like this photo whenever I heard the song... Now I see it's barley....

That's funny. Especially since Bali is more green than gold. And all women are beautiful.

If you go to Bali, I can give you the number of a good driver.

This probably isn't a private villa. If you want an infinity pool, you almost have to go to a crowded hotel. But private villas are the way to go, in my opinion.

Good to know as well! I'll look into that too! Maybe next winter, as that is their summer? Going to check out the weather there too!! Years ago, a friend brought back some brightly painted items, such as animals with wings and other interesting items, that he hung around his house. I don't see those online. I wish I could get a carved teak sofa, but they must be expensive now and prohibitive to ship!! I've seen the open houses like the photo, in a House Hunters International. It really has always struck my imagination in so many wonderful ways!! Fingers crossed for this trip across the Pacific. Wish I could squeeze in Easter Island too! Want to see those statues!! A most beautiful photo, I almost wonder if it can be real? Thinking this is the Keys near Bahia Honda, where I've camped and snorkeled many times. http://www.trbimg.com/img-50465b34/turbine/os-key-west-sunset-20120904/949/949x705

Interesting photos from NYC, just took a moment to look at them. Just was looking at a cool you tube of London in the 50's. It happened to be filmed in the area I like to stay in when I go there, Kensington, Cromwell and Brompton roads, So. Kensington High St. Love all the old cars and there's some really nice old British greats in there. A nice piece of music as well

Bali is so close to the equator that it really doesn't matter if it's summer or winter, but yes, our winter is their summer. Their seasons are wet and dry. Our winter - their summer - is the wet season. If you go then, it could easily rain every day. Then again, I went in February/March, which was the end of the wet season and it only really rained one day. It was a nice tropical rain, not a freezing Canadian rain, so I liked it. If you want to buy colorful souvenirs, Bali has more than enough. A sofa might be hard to pack into your carry on, though. Private villas are all over the island. You could easily find one that opens up to some natural scenery, especially in Ubud and the northern district. Ours was too close to the beaches and bars, so we were surrounded by civilization, but within the villa, it was very quiet and private. Other than villas, there are some nice resort hotels, but you're just in a hotel room. Bali is one of the few places where you can get a private villa with your own swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen and a bedroom that's almost outdoors on a tropical island without being a millionaire.
