I prefer to take the train (to NYC), then ride the subways or take a cab (& leave the driving to them)
hi ((andy)) (hope you are doing well) ...yep i feel the same way...never again! . ..i always take the subway to manhattan...however, the reason for driving into the city is because tommy was at a worksite and he had to bring home his tools ...i can't understand how all these people got their licenses ...total maniacs!!!! ...never again, that's for sure!

Me too......I take the train to Secaucus or Hoboken.....hit the tubes and then either walk or take a subway or cab. No driving in NYC for me. I would probably have a panic attack and sit there and cry....

Wow!! And you are newer to the driving thing too. Do you have a horn that works ? I took a cab there a long time ago and everyone seemed to be on the horn -- glad you made it back

Hi (((Jo))) Driving in or to NYC is something I only did when I was younger, which is not too long ago. It was before I realized how dangerous it can be. But walking at night in some areas might be even more dangerous. I went to see The Fab Faux at Terminal 5 (610 W. 56th St. - last Dec. 28th). I walked from Penn Station. Once I got off the main drag the neighborhood started getting creepy . But I got in & out of there alive - I took a cab out They played the entire White Album that night - including Revolution 9 I can't say that was a favorite - but everything else was fantastic

hi (((andy)))..i'm really enjoying riding by myself!!! ..i just cruise along and take my time!!!... ...trying to avoid all the maniacs....it's really not bad driving in the city (except for manhattan, of course) ....now since i go upstate alot, i'm gonna have to get used to the long and winding roads! ...i personally feel that's harder than driving in the city. ....yeah the city can get really scary at night!!!...especially the desolate areas! ...i remember way back when i had this college course at 42nd street & 8th ave (i believe)...and as i walked thru the port authority terminal area (10:00pm)...there were alot of homeless people there at the time...and as i walked to the train station there were gangs hanging out.. .thank goodness there were police around making sure they didn't cause any trouble...i was a really scared!...i kept on watching over my shoulder...couldn't wait to get home. btw glad you enjoyed fab faux. ..right after Christmas we went to see Strawberry Fields at B.B.Kings on 42nd street ...it was a Beatles brunch on a Saturday!!!. ..we all had a good time.

I was still wondering, when is Paul coming to Singapore? If not I gonna have to spent a huge amount of money to fly for his concert just to see him.

My favorite Radio 1 DJ, Scott Mills, apparently, is annoyed that people don't listen to his show after 6 PM. So, to get people to continue to listen, his sidekick, Chappers, decided to do something to change that. He would give out Scott's REAL phone number, number by number. Apparently, they didn't follow through with the whole number, so at the start of today's show, they gave out one more number. Yesterday night, though someone guessed Scott's real number and called him. Scott is genuinely annoyed.

I too saw Strawberry Fields at B.B. Kings last July - I think that was the first Beatles cover band I saw in 2007. If it wasn't - then they were not too memorable. I had a similar experience with homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk after seeing Paul at MSG last 2005. But first I saw Beatnut after the concert - well he saw me first & we chatted a bit. Unfortunately, I left Manhatten just a bit late - missed the last train back to my parts in NJ. Took the tube to Hoboken & waited there about 1.5 hrs - finally caught a different train back home. Arrived 3am!!! That was Tuesday night. I thought Saturday night in the city would fare better - it didn't (after seeing Fab Faux) & the same thing happened all over : Seems like I never learn... John Lennon refered to NYC as the city that never sleeps - I guess his experience & mine are very different
