Nancy, if you're sitting on the left hand side, flying into Heathrow...you can look down and see Windsor Castle, the oldest castle part is round. It's right around the part where you see the rectangular man made lakes, or water storage areas. It's cool to see from the sky! Have a great trip!

I'll have to look out the window Friday morning before I land in London and see if I can spot any other crop circles!
Have heard that most of them appear in Wales, but that more of them are showing up in England. Glad that you posted. Was going to ask you if you were going to put on your Nehru jacket and levitate across Abbey Road Crossing? That would be WAY cool! HAVE A GREAT TIME, NANCY!!!
I wish my paisley Nehru outfit still fit! Sadly, it's long gone. Thanks! I'll have wi-if, so will keep everyone updated as I can. Won't be able to post pics until I get back as I'm taking my lighter iPad instead of my laptop and have no was to transfer photos from camera to iPad (no USB port) Maybe if I get ambitious I'll take a couple photos with my iPad, then I can share them right away! Dumb question, but if you use your cell phone in a foreign country, but only to take photos, is that okay? I mean I won't get some huge charge on my bill. Just put it in airplane mode?

Thanks! As a matter of fact, I have a window seat on the left side (as you face the front of the plane), so will look for Windsor Castle. Visited it in 1993 with my ex-husband. Lovely town! Will be visiting Henley-On-Thames on the 25th which is northwest of Windsor and of course George's estate, Friar Park, is there!

Nancy, what version iPad do you have? There is an sd card reader you can buy to transfer pics if you have an iPad with the lightening connecter. I got one to use since I'm only taking my iPad as well this time around.

Air conditioning makes me smile. Especially in August.
Amen to that! I'm going to London next week and then Liverpool and both hotels have A/C thankfully! The temps in London are supposed to be in the '80's next week too!
Why don't all hotels in Europe have air conditioning?

Brand new iPad Pro. The only connections I see are for power and earbuds. What am I missing?

God only knows! In Liverpool, our tour group was scheduled to stay at the old Adelphi Hotel (where the Beatles convention is held, amongst other Beatles-related events) but it has no A/C as someone on here informed me! I wanted my friend to experience the Hard Day's Night Hotel since she's never been to Liverpool, plus you can't just waltz in and check it out anyway without being a guest. They check room keys when you enter.

That's the iPad I have as well. It's called Apple White Data Cable for iPhones & iPads with Lightning Connector and it plugs into the same spot your charger will to charge the iPad. Then you just put in your SD card and the pictures will transfer over. I ordered mine on Amazon.

Neon electric guitars in the window. Sometimes they have their several lava lamps lit up as well.

Not only the hotels don't have air conditioning, I went to Paris in 2003 during the heatwave that killed thousands of the French. My first time in Paris and all those cute cafes I'd always dreamed of having some French food in, were hot outdoors and roasting like an oven indoors!! Thankfully my hotel and the museums were air conditioned! Then went to London and I was roasted there as well.... This summer I was freezing in England. Could not wear sandals or shorts...burrrrrr was freezing cold! Was a bit bummed about taking all my hot weather clothes.

Nancy, just remembered to tell you... If you go to a 3 Three store, you can get a SIM card for your iPad and be on their satellite !! It's very inexpensive 1GB ?10 and 3GB ?15! It will even work when you get back to the US by roaming (tell them you want a card good for the US too!) Then wherever you go, you can be on the Internet, do tours on the Internet. It's great, even cheaper than your own mobile service when you get back. However if you want to top it up in the US, you have to have to buy a British Travelex card and leave some ? on it! You can only use a British credit card to top it up.

That's great, I find Europe is much more connected than we are in the States! I sign up to the Cloud and a bunch of others and stay connected everywhere. Just like the SIM card to be connected out on the street now... Can't wait to see your photos!!! with your knowledge, they're bound to be great!

Oh, you must have a micro SD card then. Apple should let you return it when you are home.
