Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours
-
On 2012, the director of Planmusic (the promoter who brought Paul to Brazil in the 90s and on 2010, 11 and 12) said that, without any other country who is interested in a McCartney concert here in Latin America, there would be 'no way' to MPL to give their 'ok' to a show on just one country. Which means, if Argentina is really off the charts for a show, MAYBE we won't have any concerts around here.

I dug through the news and Google Translate and all roads lead to tomorrow.

Yes, a politician from Ceará (the state whose capital is Fortaleza) said that the confirmation would happen on 03/20/2013, and another politician from Goiás (the state whose capital is Goiânia) said on Sunday that there would be an announcement this week, and that the 3 shows on Brazil received the 'OK' from England. Let's wait for tomorrow.

Given that moptops hasn't had an Australian concert in, well, forever, you can understand his lack of sympathy. However, even though I've been luckier than most living on the east coast of the US, I would be upset too were it me who had a Paul show cancelled, so I feel for you, even though we've both been a bit too blessed by Paul in terms of concerts.

Really? Paul performed in my country exactly twice. 1993 and 2010. That's for his entire career. Not that blessed me thinks! But I get the point.
-
A journalist who was been giving news regarding Paul's shows here in Brazil posted on twitter that he has "big news, and his followers wouldn't like it very much" and that he said that "it could happen". It is important to remember that he said few days ago that the politicians who keeps "confirming" Paul around here are making the negotiations harder. Let's wait.

I know, but you've been able to travel relatively close (compared to Australia, anyway!) to see him. Not many near-Australia show, but yeah. Not good news for you, and that stinks.

Are they cancelling the shows in Brazil as well? You have to be fockin kiddin' me!

Well, traveling close is a 2/3 hour plane flight to another country where they speak another language, it's not like I took the bus and got there in an hour

The concerts in Brazil have not been cancelled. Paul has hotel reservations in Belo Horizonte, and the stadium administration in that city has publicly stated that the concert will happen on May 03. That means the other ones will happen as well, he's not coming all the way to South America for just one concert.

He just posted that the shows around here may be cancelled. The politicians are screwing everything.

Indeed, but have you seen the latest tweet from jnflesch?

Yes, but I don't believe that guy. He always writes things after others have mentioned them. In fact, I had sent him a message about the concerts in Argentina being cancelled, and then started writing that the concerts in Brazil might not happen. Coincidence? I think not.

Let's hope so. I'm still waiting for the "announcement" about the shows tomorrow. If it doesn't happen, I might cancel all my reservations.

I haven't made any reservations yet, but if there is no announcement tomorrow I will not be worried. It might happen later in the week, or even next week.

I bet Paul's ex-wife is not feeling a lot of love from his fans in Argentina right now...

The problem is I can't wait for a confirmation forever, as there will be some penalty for the cancellation of the reservations and the ticket.
