The journalist confirmed right now, on his radio program, all the 3 shows here in Brazil! He said that will reveal all the details of his chat with the Minas Gerais governor in a few minutes.
Marshall Arts just stated that "the announcements haven't ended for today"! Wonder what that is about ;).
I hope he confirms Brazil, but it's really difficult to happen. Since 2010, the national producer (Planmusic) confirms the show first, and a few hours or even on the next day, the official site confirms it as well. The information that will be given on the radio program is from the governor from Minas Gerais, whose capital is Belo Horizonte.
Ah, I see. It isn't not yet confirmed by the local production team then?
Apparently, it is confirmed by the local production from MINAS GERAIS, but not by the NATIONAL PRODUCTION, which is Planmusic. Carlos Viana, the journalist, said that the Brazilian leg was almost cancelled because of a Minas State Soccer Championship on Sunday, 5/5/2013. But it was solved, and the 3 shows will happen.

He's explaining everything, all the background details behind the negotiations. He is playing a recording of the governor confirming the concert as the first of Paul's new tour. I have just created separate threads for the three concerts with the word "RUMOUR". Once they are officially announced by Paul, I will change them to "CONFIRMED".

I have just listened to a radio broadcast with the confirmation of three concerts in Brazil. Once they are officially announced on Paul's website, I will change the title of this thread from "RUMOUR" to "CONFIRMED".

This is exciting news after the huge depression I got yesterday when Time4Fun announced negotiations fell off and Paul is not coming to Argentina.

The mods will merge them with this thread until the shows are confirmed. That's the protocol for this forum.

Javi, when can I see the Time4Fun info regarding Paul's not going to your country?

Not sure what to think about the canceled Argentina shows. The article implies McCartney will not tour the first "semester" of 2013, yet it looks like Brazil is happening, as well as a USA date and two Europe shows in June. I assumed Argentina would have happened right after Brazil, since May 3 is being touted as the start of the tour. Hmmmmmmm!

I know! But who knows, it probably was a money thing and as we all know well, the announcements with reasons for cancellations never tell the truth. I never expected to see Time4Fun announcing "We didn't hire Paul because he wanted more money than we were willing to pay him".

Yeah, I suspect it could be as simple as negotiations falling through over some details, financial or otherwise.

Amazing that the promoters in Brazil succeeded while the ones in Argentina failed miserably.

It could just be money. Maybe Brazil has the money to back these shows up, as well as a huge world soccer tournament around the corner, maybe money for promotion and concerts.

Time4Fun is the same promoter that hired Paul for 2 shows here in 2010, they should known what they're doing, they're no newbies.

I hear you. That is messed up.

Maybe they lost money on those shows in 2010, or Paul was asking for a higher guarantee this time around than they could commit to give him, who knows. Shows fall through for all kinds of reasons.
-
Here's hoping Paul finally makes it out to Hawaii! A quick stop here before or after the rumored Outside Lands or an Australian tour would be nice.

Both concerts sold out in record time so I don't think they lost money and if they did they wouldn't have been negotiating for so long to bring him here again. I asked a friend of mine who has contacts with the promoters, I'll keep you posted.
