Where did the 5 U.S. shows in October come from?
nobodytoldme:
[..] Ho, wait, I just said that IF he's going to do it like that it will not be that much of an exhausting scheme.

I hope by the time he announces some long awaited UK dates, it will be in conjunction with promoting his new album, seems to be taking forever, initially read that it has a May release date

nobodytoldme:
Yup. Potentially 5 US shows in October (first time in years he would tour that month...), 7 shows or so in Japan and Australia in November and the usual 3 or 4 - sigh - gigs in Europe in December is hardly anything different than what he did in the last few years. If it's turns out to be a full-out tour, that would be different. But I think/hope he will do a few non-tour intimate venues as promotion for the album again.
You posted it! I know it came from your friend etcetera but...

To think that he will ever do a full blown tour again is ridiculous. Even though this current leg went May to August...he really is only doing 7 to 8 shows a month. A lot of break time in between. He's touring smartly the last few years...he doesn't over do it which is smart these days but the days of the 89,93 and even 2002 tour I think is long over. You would think that it costs a fortune to keep a crew like this together with so much time off at times but hey, I'm not complaining!!

That's why I was saying indeed. Could be easily spread across those continents that way. And I was wondering about the same thing, hate to bring it up again, but that's definitely the reason Horsens got cancelled. But also the reason we got random shows like the 3 in Europe in March.

Not the point though surely hes done enough touring in the US for at least this year? no i dont care about when he comes to my neck of the woods but there reaches a point it becomes almost saturation point and given his constant tours of America over the last 3 or 4 years it must be reaching it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder dont they say?
-
I think Paul can do some shows in Australia! And IMHO 90% garantee for winter European gigs and I only hope that he won't forget Eastern Europe - we love him so much... ....as everywhere
-
So the previously sold T- shirts won't have all the tour cities on them....

He continues to tour the US because they are sure sell outs and he will always make money here. The VIP packages are twice as big and Americans will pay top dollar to see a show they want to see. Nothing is over staurated as people get excited over here every time he is out. For every person who doesn't return to see shows in that area close to each other, two new people want the tickets vacated by them.

Appreciate the reply Bob and i accept your points, though i stand by what i said to be honest we'll agree do disagree on that ,you're right though America does seem to subsidise Paul's jaunts to other parts of the world with generally higher prices certainly than here in the UK is this the case over there in the states or is Paul an isolated case?. I've long since given up trying to work out the logic behind Paul's tours frankly zig zagging all over the place cant be cost effective surely, indeed in my minds eye over at MPL towers i see Paul with a large table top map,a few counters,he then puts on she's loves you starts wiggling and then when the chorus hits hits throws the counters over his shoulder and then tours where they land it does seem that random. Anyways im rambling
-
HenGirl, I posted those same thoughts just prior to the tour starting. Very weird way to conduct a tour. I even said back then that it couldn't be cost effective and the three European shows even made it crazier. I think alot of this has to do with his age and keeping his voice in the best shape..If you notice, although there were almost 30 shows....he did not more than 8 in a single month. There's a lot of down time and having a crew on payroll all that time must be expensive. I have been to over 100 shows...mostly US but in Europe as well and especially UK and the crowds are much different. Very few Europeans or UKer's do the VIP tickets and most of the people who are on those packages at shows over there are either from the US or Japan for the most part. Not saying better, just different. It's not just Paul, any show that a person over here wants to really go to, they will splurge on themselves. I remember about two years ago during the December UK show, big hullabaloo about VIP ticket prices from the people in England. I was at a VIP in Germany where there were only 3 people on VIP package. All three people were not from Germany. Even the ticket sales on the bigger shows take longer to sell out over there. There's really nothing to worry about here, no matter how often he comes, ticket sales will be brisk and immediate. Same with South America, zero problems selling tickets. The days of long tours with normal stops are gone, I don't think he could ever pull that off again, but I'm happy that he keeps coming out and doing it. I wouldn't be surprised if Australia turns up, would make sense while in Japan to add them. Actually i'm hoping for some December Europe or just UK shows...love traveling abroad.
